It's been over 35 years since Columbia Roofing & Home Improvement was founded by the Smigelski family in Northern Virginia. Columbia was family run then, and we are proud to say we are still family run today! Garrett began learning roofing from watching his Father as early as 8 years old, and after graduating High School decided to embark on his career under the tutelage of his father to proudly carrying on the family business name.
Columbia Roofing has successfully completed hundreds of projects in the commercial marketplace since our founding in 1983. A few of our many endeavors include the completion of mid-range commercial projects such as banks, apartment complexes, office buildings, strip malls, and numerous small offices and churches.
Columbia Roofing & Home Improvement was started by Andrew Smigelski, master roofer/craftsman in 1982. Over the past 35 years Columbia has provided quality roofing services across the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Since our start in 1982 we have built a strong foundation that puts an emphasis on customer satisfaction.

This is my first review but I felt that the quality and professionalism which Garrett showed deserves much better reviews than what this company is getting now. I am impressed by his honesty as I call him to inspect my roof after the recent wind storm. He honestly told me that I should not file a claim with the insurance as the repairs can be done much cheaper. He repaired and serviced the roof carefully at much reasonable price than other contractors in the area. I have no hesitation to recommend him for any roof related jobs.

Garrett is as professional and ethical as they come. Shortly after we bought our house nearly three years ago, Garrett performed a roof inspection. He informed us that we had a discontinued "horizon" shingle, but unlike several other companies that have walked door to door, he told us there was no need yet to file an insurance claim because the roof was still in good condition. The last time Garrett was over for an inspection, even after collecting payment, I saw him climbing the ladder one more time to tighten up some things he saw. He seems to have a lot of integrity, and he'll remain our first

Garrett at Columbia Roofing was great to work with. His pricing was the best among all the estimates we got. He and his crew did the job on time, efficiently, and did excellent clean up after the job was done. He was patient with all my questions and addressed all concerns we had. Once the old roof was off they discovered some rotten plywood that had to be replaced. They were able to address that with out delay to completion. I'd recommend Garrett and Columbia Roofing to anyone.
