Architecture Resource Center
The ARC provides multiple design-education programs in which to engage students, teachers, and the community in everything from classroom, curriculum-linked interactive experiences to activities for community festivals. Each ARC engagement is different. It's best to get in touch with us to discuss your interests so we can give you firm pricing.

Typically one to 10 days, the programs are designed to reinforce grade-level curriculum standards. The ARC can often direct you to funding sources for these programs. Currently in its sixth year, DCP is underway in ten New Haven public schools in grades 1-5. This multi-year, multi-grade project is part of the mathematics curriculum.

Each year, the program serves 25 classroom teachers and their 600 students, 10 math coaches, and 10 art teachers. Every ARC program receives an independent, professional evaluation. Here is a selection of teacher comments about their experiences and master artist/teacher Anna Sanko.
Services
Some of the projects were hard, but good. The challenges allowed students to use their reasoning skills in the cause/effect discussions. Since 1991, our programs have been funded by more than $2,000,000 in grant awards from private, local, state, and national sources. ARC operation costs are provided for with private and individual, tax-deductible contributions.
The Architecture Resource Center was honored for its contribution to the "Creative Ecosystem" by the Arts Council of Greater New Haven. These workshops are currently underway in New Haven K-8 public schools. In twenty years, digital technology will be exponentially more complex than it is now. That is the driving force behind the STEM revolution - there's an urgency in our country to prepare students for a competitive, technology-fueled future.
