Kmca
KMCA is one of the nation's most sophisticated and versatile model making studios, employing highly skilled model makers and operating a full complement of advanced equipment, including the latest CAD, CNC milling machines, 3D printing and advanced laser cutting with the capability to work with virtually any material and handle any 3D surface.

The quality of KMCA's work has attracted clients from around the world, including leading architectural firms, industrial design firms and more. Award-winning architect William Pedersen described a highly detailed skyscraper model built by KMCA as "easily the best architectural model he ever commissioned."

For the list of our clients, please refers to the client listing page. President and founder: Kenneth M. Champlin KMCA was founded in 1988 by Kenneth M. Champlin. Prior to that, Ken had worked as in house model builder and photographer for multiple leading architecture firms such as Rochlin & Baron, Gruen Associates, William L. Pereira Associates, Warren Platner Associates and Cesar Pelli and Associates.
Services
It's fast, precise, and now, because KMCA is offering a full range of laser cutting services, it's affordable too. Everyone who has a need for precision laser-cut parts can take advantage of KMCA's capabilities. Working from your design sketches, drawings or CAD files (see Laser CAD Guidlines) we can produce complex parts from many different materials for a variety of applications.
KMCA is moving into the future with the latest in FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) equipment. By combining our knowledge of model building with this new technology, we are able to create parts faster and more accurately than ever before. We are even able to build parts that would have previously been impossible, and still maintain a cost effective process.
1. Create valid solid objects. In software like Rhinoceros, this means that all surface edges are joined to one and only one other surface edge. Solid modeling packages such as Solidworks work only with solids, so most created shapes will be valid. 2. Meshes must be closed and watertight. If you have trouble finding problem areas, software like MiniMagics can help you find bad edges.
As opposed to the additive manufacturing process of FDM 3D printing, CNC (Computer Numerical Control) milling is a subtractive manufacturing process whereby parts are made by removing materials from the surface of a workpiece. CNC milling is an ideal manufacturing processes for actual part of a product, prototypes, complex shaped components or even for surfacing various materials to the desired thickness.
KMCA Inc. is looking for an individual(s) to fulfill an advanced model making position. If you are the type of person who is eager to learn, is a problem solver able to work independently and within a team, has knowledge of CAD/CAM or is willing to learn, then we would like you to join our team.
