I called Duke City Movers to get a quote and did end up using them because he quoted me for the job and not an hourly rate--no other moving company could even provide an estimate on how long it would take. Looking back I should have gone with someone else then, despite not having a clear estimate.
He seemed to know what he was talking about over the phone and I sent him pictures of the furniture I had to be moved. He again, told me the price and which days he was available. Both were Sundays, which meant we had to change our schedule. But beggars can't be choosers so again, I rolled with

They changed dates on me and finally told me they would move me on the last day of the month. I was told to call them at 1:30 in the afternoon. When I did Rich started going off on me that he'd called me at 9am and was ready to move me then. I reminded him of his directive to call at 1:30 and he then threatened to NOT move me at all because I had an attitude. Seriously?!?!
With no options left (it was Sunday at 2pm) I was forced to use them and they jacked up the price from a quoted $230-$250 to $300. They left my air conditioning unit in the old place and wait for it.....

These people showed up 3 hours late, and then an older man walked up to us on the front porch, not sure of his name as he didn't identify himself, but he had a really bad attitude. Apparently they were all upset over the previous job where something got damaged from what was heard by the crew that stayed by the truck at the driveway. The man asked a question to no one in particular and before anyone could even answer, he said "have a nice day" and loaded up his two guys and took off. Left us completely stranded.

These guys are amazing, I literally never write reviews but the service was so incredibly good and fast, and the dudes were so cool, I had to pay respects! Use these guys if you are in a bind and need to move quickly, they will go above and beyond to fit you into their schedule. Love these guys, highly recommend.

Rich and his team are wonderful. They were fast, efficient, hard-working and careful, and also really nice. They made the move a pleasure. My furniture was treated with TLC, and so was I! I've had to move many times, have had a lot of experience with different movers, and Duke City are unequivocally the best.

These movers were extremely prompt. Three guys were able to work so fast and efficiently; I was impressed by their kindness, strength, and ardor. The movers went above and beyond, asking if we needed help packing anything, quickly breaking down furniture and putting it back together, and offering to move something over and over to get it in the perfect spot once in the new space. They certainly earned their tips!!

I read the online reviews and realize that there are always going to be those with complaints. I decided to give them a shot. I asked the guy to explain his reviews. He told me that they would give me a quote and do their best to meet their obligations. Just before confirming the reservation, I asked the guy to verify all of the prices. It was not until then did I get an upstairs chargs, fuel charges and travel charges. It was not until this point that I grew concerned. As I thought about it, he told me that he could no longer wait for me to make a decision because
