Services
Richard Earls began in the construction industry by working for one of his Marine Corp buddies. Richard learned the skills of renovation, working on high-end buildings in the French Quarter, Garden District and the uptown areas of New Orleans, LA. Richard Earls Construction was formed to specialize in foundation, structural repairs, and other challenging projects.
Many New Orleans homes are at risk of damage from termites, rot, floods, hurricanes and other extreme weather events. This damage can affect the foundation of the home. It can also be expensive to repair, but the damage only gets worse if it is left untreated. Foundation problems may include the soil under the home.
When performing house raising services, our experienced crews create durable supports (cribbing) to temporarily stabilize the home, and once we elevate a house, the services tremendously reduce the effects of floods, augment the long-term value of the home, minimize the costs of repairs and stabilize the entire house.
House shoring refers to the process of raising and supporting a house or other structure using props when it is at the risk of collapsing or to enable repairs. It is one of the important steps carried out to stabilize a house or other structure while in the process of repairing. All foundations are prone to movement over the years.
The frame of a house refers to the wall studs, joists, and rafters that hold the house together and on which everything else stands. These elements determine the structural integrity of the building. A well-built house with solid foundation will last for many years to come. Whether you're remodeling, buying a ready-built house, or building your dream home from scratch, it is ideal to have a basic idea of what is in your house's structure.
