Green EconoME is a woman-owned, multi-disciplinary energy consulting and construction firm providing full scale energy efficiency services to diverse public and private sector clients. The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) has released a notice regarding the Existing Buildings Energy and Water Efficiency Ordinance (EBEWE).

PACE is an innovative approach to assess the property's tax bill with the energy efficiency improvements. This means there is ultimately no cash outlay for the cost of the improvements. The immediate return though will be a huge cut on those monthly energy bills that you receive they become self sufficient in power usage. ASHRAE, or the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, develops best practices for a more sustainably built environment. As states like California and cities such as Los Angeles, San Jose, and San Diego establish climate action plans, benchmarking and performance ordinances are a fundamental strategy of disclosing existing building's energy and water use, establishing a baseline, and measuring milestones toward climate policy goals.
California Assembly Bill "AB 802" is a new, statewide "Energy Benchmarking" and disclosure law, replacing the previous bill, AB 1103. It requires buildings over 50,000 sq. Two or more separate buildings that share one energy meter and have a combined gross floor area of at least 50,000 square feet.
