I ordered a piece of furniture from ModShop and was told it would arrive in 10 weeks. It did not arrive for over 6 months. I could not get through to anyone on their customer service team despite multiple emails and calls. When the dresser did finally arrive it was clearly unfinished. The drawers were raw wood with sharpie writing all over them. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had ordering something online.

You think you're getting quality furniture based on what you pay - you don't!
I have tried several times to get someone to contact me about a wobbly nightstand and just found out one of the drawer tracks isnt even secured in.
I wish I read these reviews before buying.

I had the worst customer experience with ModShop. I ordered a sofa in November 2020. The original ETA was 8-12 weeks but the item was received in June after 30 weeks. They sent me the wrong item and not what I had ordered. The sofa was extremely firm and we couldnt even sit on it for more than 10 mins. Jose was the store keeper and kept lying about the delivery and pick up. After spending $4500 and with this worst experience I have been chasing ModShop for a return. They took 2 months and finally picked up the sofa in end of July. They havent given me refund and now they are charging me restocking

Don't be fooled by the appearance of the store, this place is as tacky as they come. Always ALWAYS Yelp an establishment before spending money. Had I done that, I would've saved myself a lot of money and energy. Bought a few thousand $$ worth of furniture here. All but one piece was damaged. Credenza came chipped, desk came with broken drawers, pillows I ordered weren't even included and I'm STILL waiting for some type of help with getting the pieces fixed.

Absolutely LOVE all my furniture from ModShop! Completely unique pieces that you really can't find anywhere else. We filled our whole living room with ModShop and it looks amazing! Tbh, don't believe the bad reviews - this company is small and family run, so they really want to make sure you're taken care of. We had a great experience :)

So many great reviews on here and I've purchased from them three times, but the third time was not a charm... My third custom piece was ordered in January with no delivery timeframe given. I was charged 100% at time of ordering. After many calls and emails, three scheduled delivery dates, nothing has ever arrived. Thousands of dollars taken from me without a single phone call or email from Modshop or my sales person Jose Heredia to proactively keep me informed. I am always chasing. Six months later, my money has been taken without a word. Keep your wallet to yourself. Be safe everyone!

It's tricky to write a review for this store because my experience wasn't without hiccups. I purposely waited a few months to write my review because I was feeling annoyed and I don't think I would have written a fair review. Evaluating the totality of circumstances there is no furniture store in LA that offers this type of furniture at such prices. The sofas here custom or otherwise are a fraction of the price other stores charge. My sofa cost $3,000 and I got quotes from other stores ranging from $5,000-$10,000. Hands down the worse customer service. I am an interior designer, who gave them a shot and regretted I did. Needless to say, I will never purchase from them again. I understand that things happen and it is just furniture.... it isn't the end of the world. What left a bad taste in my mouth was how they did not try to turn things around and rectify the situation. This happened over and over again.

I own about $25,000 worth of furnishings from ModShop, all purchased at once. Some stuff is fine, mainly the really simple pieces and lamps. Of course it's the most expensive pieces that have proven to not be worth the price tag.
I have a fuchsia velvet armchair that was upholstered with too little fabric! It went un-sat in for a long time until recently, of which its still only been sat in a dozen times. The fabric has become untucked in the seat corner and the batting is exposed. It's a clothing grade velvet (thin) and it is now tearing in that spot just from my trying to tuck it back

I ordered a coffee table from ModShop that was out of stock and had to be made. I did not customize it or change the design in any way. This table is sold standard online and in store. (The amazing staff did help me make a decision, which was originally an ottoman, and mailed me leather swatches before deciding on this table. They were also very communicative via email) I was quoted 10 weeks, and my table came exactly as promised, within 10 weeks, and is truly a stunning work of art. Here is a pic of the table. The representative in the show room was eager to help when we were in the store - made promises about customizations (ie width of the table, uniformity of the stain of the table) that he could not keep. We sadly realized this after we paid for the table and could not make any changes. He was slow to answer phone calls and emails and when I was told he would follow up, he never did. It was Love at first sight when I saw the grey honeycomb dresser online. I had to purchase it when I saw it in person! Then I spotted the Cody Credenza which was perfect for our dining room. The Cody credenza came with a painted grey glass top which the honeycomb dresser didn't have so I special ordered the painted glass through Victoria. She has been very helpful so I inquired further about ordering another glass top for my wood dining table that I bought from CB2.
