Since 1983, we have participated and contributed in all phases of construction - from conception through completion. Our first- hand knowledge of hundreds of different construction sites, materials, and methodologies have resulted in keen insights into costs, risks, challenges, and project management balance - experience and expertise that contributes to the successful completion of your project.
We don't see a division between Architecture, Interior Design, and Financial targets -they are far too integrated to be separated. To create beautiful and useful environments, we believe it is essential that one must maintain a central vision. We blend function requirements, physical constraints, design, and building performance objectives that achieve targeted outcomes and elevate living.

I wish we could give more than 5 stars for Rick and 3rd Story Architecture. We hired Rick to help us with the design and build out of our group training studio & private gym. From the very first time we met him we knew we were in great hands. His professionalism, expertise and quick responses to all of our questions (and there were many!) were so much appreciated. He gave us SO many ideas and invested so much time in help making our gym come to life on paper. We always felt the customer service of 3rd Story far surpassed anything we were anticipating. Rick provided so much insight into the design

A realtor put Rick Daugherty and I together as the design/build team for her custom home clients in 2001. At that initial preliminary design meeting I could see Rick was very talented. His imagination, creativity energy and enthusiasm was different than I had seen in other architects; either before, or since. That first project Rick designed was so spectacular it won a national contest for the best custom home in 2003, finishing ahead of 500 contestants.
I’ve seen Rick quickly draw a sketch as a client was trying to explain their vision of a particular portion of their project. Rick was so fast
