We had a persistent leak in our kitchen that lasted for 6 years. I called in plumbers, roofers, so-called "leak detectives", etc. Everyone had a different story, but no one could find the leak or was willing to take a holistic approach to solve the issue.
Some people made up outlandish scientific stories - condensation, ice damming, pipe expansion, etc. Paul came in and assessed the issue. He then had his guys calmly open up the ceiling and he dug and dug until he found the leak.

I was hoping to use this company for other projects in the future. The workmen were skilled and were able to work around all of the mistakes my project manager made. Measurements were taken incorrectly at least 3 times. There was no communication. Phone calls and texts were not returned. I was completely blown off by my project manager so he could work in a larger project. He had told me initially the job would take @8 days. It took @3 months because of his mistakes. I would never use this company again. Owner still hasn’t returned my call.

After missing their appointment for a consult, I decided to call. I was told that the owner was supposed to call me to give me the estimate over the phone. There is no way any company can give a proper estimate without seeing the the space. I’m going be be needing a new kitchen next year, guess whom I’m not going to call. Despicable the way people run their companies. I had to organize my day so I can meet with them, trying to give a local company some business.

Terrible company!
They messed up every single aspect of the project from not meeting deadlines (4 months instead of 5 weeks) to clogging a drain with garbage being thrown down the sewer.
Construction crews weren’t professional at all and made tons of mistakes so we had to fight over every single detail to make them fix it.
As of communication with the owner Paul - lies, empty promises and ignorance describe him very well.
They ended up leaving our project disregarding multiple mandatory touch ups. Our attempts to reach out were ignored. They ultimately ended the project with a nail puncturing

Excellent experience overall from start to finish! We fully renovated 2 bathrooms, created an open floor plan from the kitchen to the living room / dining room, built a barn door pantry, refinished our lower level (basement) and did white wainscoting throughout the house. High-quality work with strong attention to detail. Reliable contractor with constant communication each and every step of the way. I would recommend First Impressions, I had to replace an old window and fix my roof. Quite alot of damage and leakage. Paul was great in explaining what needed to be done, etc. I will be honest, there was some miscommunication, but it was resolved and they are prompt, clean and take great care in doing what is needed. I do want them to come back and take care of additional projects needed in my home.

The King of Dix Hills! First Impressions completely gut and rebuilt a large luxury home on my street in record time. I knew that they were going to be the first company that I called when it came time for me to address some of my remodeling needs and I'm so glad I did. Paul, the owner, was extremely personable and accommodating in understanding our renovation needs and budget. He was always available to discuss any questions that arose along the way,which is really rare for a large construction firm.
