I had an issue, I thought, with a parlor floor. I called several companies and Mel himself picked up the phone! He made an appointment right away to see my problem. He was in the area, so he came after work. Turned out there was no problem, just user error. He explained how I should continue. I did not need his service, but he was polite, knew the process I should use, and was willing to take the time to talk to me! I would use his company because his customer service showed he cares about his work and knows how to do it.

Mel's did an absolutely wonderful job redoing hardwood floors in a recently purchased house. Communication with them was prompt and clear, they were very timely in their work and the finished product turned out so beautiful!! Well worth the cost to have the work done so well, and really the cost was affordable. They were overall a pleasure to work with and I would definitely recommend them (have already). Mel took out our old kitchen wood floors and redid our kitchen and hallway floors! He is so friendly, honest and his work is outstanding! Our family highly recommends his business!

I called Mel's Floor Refinishing to look at some maple flooring in a home I recently purchased. Rommel was 5 minutes early for our appointment (how absolutely refreshing) and explained exactly what I could expect in the finished product. He gave me a solid quote and a timeline for project completion (both of which he upheld). The price was fair and the workmanship was outstanding. Although this was a personal project, I deal with contractors for a living, and seldom do I see this level of service. I would highly recommend Rommel and his team at Mel's. Great job

We were too far out of his service area for him to resurface and finish our wood floor. But he gave us a lot of great information about products to choose, those to avoid and helped educate us to be better consumers with our project. Mind you, he did not make a single dime from us, but patiently took 3 of my wife's lengthy calls to him with questions. He was very patient , informative and made us wish he was able to provide the work because he was a fantastic guy to work with, even though he knew he would not gain anything financially. From this experience alone, I would recommend this business

Very professional and reliable service. Staff was knowledgeable in offering a good assessment of the floor by phone prior to scheduling service, and even offered some out-of-the-box solutions that demonstrated their strong knowledge and expertise. I was further convinced to trust them after looking at the photos on their website. On the day of service, staff arrived ahead of schedule, and did a thorough job, and held true to the reasonable price. I have never left a review here before but felt obligated to after our service. We bought two coupons through the Star Trib and paid for using coupons. Once he knew we had bought the deal with coupons he did the job in half the time he quoted and it is evident in the quality of work. He left a lot of nail holes and divets that should have been filled in. I have found about 5% filled and the rest are so evident I am kicking myself for not seeing them when the finish was still glossy and we couldn't walk around on it.
