This was the absolute worst Experience with moving than I ever had! experience with moving than I ever had!
They brough my things two months later than the date promised and the 30 day contract.
They refused to bring my things to my home which was arranged three months prior.
When they finally arrived having to deliver it to another address for of my boxes 4 of my boxes were missing and they brought me 4 boxes that were not mine.
I had to pay extra to then transport all of my things to my address which was arranged at the initial agreement and contract
In sum dont ever Use these movers they should

Stay away from this company. I was warned by other reviews to be skeptical of their offer, and I wish I had.
Long story short, we made a very complete budget with videos, distances, inventory etc.. but at the end of the job, they charged me almost double. We sat down in a reasonable manner and negotiated a fair price which I paid and they even gave me a receipt, but once they left the house they made an additional charge to my credit card for the difference (+250).
They stopped answering the phone and emails, I'm still dealing with the dispute on my CC.
Hear me when I warn you to STAY AWAY

Not only did they damage or destroy a 1/3 of our belongings, they raised the cost by 2,000 dollars after loading the truck. I reported them for fraud and documented everything. Sell all of you possessions rather than moving across country with this company!!!

The owner of American Movers and Storage had his department of transportation licenses revoked on September 23rd. He closed the business and ran off with everyone's deposits and money, including mine. If anybody else had this happen, please let me know as I was trying to sue him, but can't since he apparently has no money and was heavy into drugs. I tried suing Progressive, but they only covered him for accidents. If anybody has any information that can help all of us recover our money, please let me know.

STAY AWAY !!! SCAMMERS!!! They lie about their status as brokers, they provide no customer, never call you back and don't care if your stuck without anything but the shirt on your back.
I contacted American Movers and Storage for my out of state move to Arizona. After shopping around they had the best competitive price and after thinking I was confirming all the items I needed to ensure a safe and successful move I found out the hard way that they lied from the start. Called the company was given quote of 5k for move from San Diego to Utah. They called back a few days before the move and claimed it would be more. So at this point they have 3100 of mine. Driver shows up at 8:30pm, Ivan said would no fit in truck (Russian accent) and wanted to charge me additional 4000. Told him to leave, and rented a truck myself. Same size. Only 3/4 full after we loaded. Was told no refunds. Avoid at all costs. Rent a truck, hire laborers it'll be half the price. These guys were crooks. This review at this point is all for naught since these b*#$*$eds are out of business. We too hired this deplorable company (if you can call them that). They are in the business of destroying lives! So much of our life is gone after 40 years of accumulation. Items that cannot ever be replaced because they belonged to grandparents that have long been deceased. China from Europe that is over 150 years old, many pieces missing & broken, our wedding toast glasses broken, mementoes from travels (like beer steins from 1999 Olympics in Atlanta), collectables that were actually stolen out of bins

Job relocated me twice in the last 6 months had terrific move on the last one and this one was even better. Affordable and dependable! Thank god for the 24/7 customer service line because when I wasn’t able to sell my washer and dryer 12 hours before the move I added it to my inventory and they still honored their price. I would recommend this company 11 times out of 10, from the reps to customer service to the movers everyone works professionally and efficiently. Thank you to American movers and storage hopefully I don’t have to move again anytime soon but if I do they’ve already earned

This company is a sham. Every step of the way they will screw you. They'll overcharge you like crazy. The Mexicans they have move your stuff will be MIA for a while then show up weeks later at 11:00pm. Forget about reimbursement for the stuff they break or lose. Thats if they even get your stuff to you. Read the BBB reviews. They change their names. They change their website. They're even in some sketchy deal with their "3rd party" people that don't/won't reimburse you. Your claim is another sham. Stay away from these clowns!!!

Nothing new to add here except I wish I had checked Yelp sooner. The more I deal with American Movers and Storage the more I think they are scammers. They were nice initially but as soon as you make any sort of payments, good luck trying to get hold of someone. We're now 1 week post move without our items. The ETA they said is 2 weeks with a legal obligation to deliver within 30 days.

We've spent way more than they quoted and even more on trying to make an empty house somewhat comfortable for 2 adults and 2 toddlers.

Stay away from them and go with a better well known/more reliable

Guys Please never use them they employ another company who is 30% cheaper than them and this is almost like a scam. they won't take any responsibility for what they promised. they promised to deliver in 7 days and took 199$ more for the quick delivery. but did not deliver in 7 days it took 20 days to deliver the stuff.it was my bad I did not check for the reviews they guy who sold his name was Jeff don't know if that is his true name, he did a great job of convincing and selling me the move. we have new born and a 8 year old as they promised 7 days we had to spend another 13 days in hotel

These people take advantage of people at a really stressful time. I hate that I have to give them any stars because they deserve nothing from me. I have stopped calling them because it became apparent that they are just vendors and not really a moving company. Once they get your money, they don't care anymore. You can never reach them and their stories change all the time. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. You're better off with a well known company.

I am taking the time to write this "review" in an attempt to save other people the absolute nightmare of working with this company. They ARE NOT a moving company. They do NOT own their own trucks and possibly may not even employ anyone in the moving business. I honestly do not know how they sleep at night knowing what pain and suffering they have created for so many innocent people.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Making a very long story shorter I will give you the bare facts. Peter Nelson was my salesman. Was very kind while lying the entire time.
They are a 3rd party mover. Charge you up front then someone else moves you.
The second company then charges you more on top of what was already paid.
Very difficult to get ahold of anyone on the weekends when I was to be moved.
Did not show on promised date.
Second "company" shows up with enterprise rental truck.
When furniture arrived almost everything was scratched or broken.
Nothing has been resolved at this point.

This company turned my move into a nightmare. My story is like most others reviewed here. Broken promises, added fees, multiple lies. When my furniture finally arrived--three weeks late--there was damage to my dining table and missing furniture. The customer service reps took no responsibility to get problems solved. The driver was very pleasant, but extremely over-worked, working alone to deliver 3 truckloads, alone, in one day.

I submitted a quote request on a site for finding movers. American Movers & Storage in Macon, GA, was one of the companies that responded. The owner, Joseph Harris, called me while pretending to answer the phone, which I thought was odd at the time, but I thought that maybe a script on the website had called us both.

When I explained that I was trying to move my potentially dangerous ex's things to his mom in Florida, Harris offered an estimate price that I agreed to, and I paid a deposit of $748 over the phone. The estimate was sent via a link in an email. That link no longer works

I had already moved half the stuff in my house from Pa to Texas myself so my wife hired these guys to move the rest of the stuff down since they gave us a $4500 quote. She gave them permission to withdraw a $2000 down payment from her bank account then saw a week or so later they'd helped themselves to another $2500 without notifying her. They then told her that they had miscalculated & were doubling the original quote & therefore needed more money down. My wife was there alone & pressed for time & didn't feel like she had any choice but to continue despite the extra cost

Me and my wife were moving from LA to Vegas and it was all organized and well put together by the team. they handle every state so it was pretty straight forward. They confirmed months in advance too and let us know if they had any questions or concerns about our furniture before hand. Cool!
