The Ed Martin Automotive group was founded in 1955 by Ed Martin Sr. Ed began life as the first child born in the Indiana University Coleman hospital in Indianapolis, IN. His entrance into this world shows that his life was destined to be anything but typical. Ed graduated from Manual High School as a football star and continued his football career at Butler University in Indianapolis.

I would like to thank the staff at Ed Martin honda. I have had nothing but negative to subpar service at best since buying my first new car, a 2017 Honda Civic. I have been to multiple dealerships as I got one of those cars with lots of bugs. My experiences up to this point have led to multiple discussions between my wife and I that we will never buy from honda again because they have not lived up to there reputation as customer friendly. Being new to the area I found the nearest dealership to get an oil change. You guys not only did a great job but fixed a minor issue the previous dealerships

After using this place for my auto purchases and its services, I will NEVER return to this place! Over the weekend after experiencing a frightful moment while driving, my kids and I ended up stranded alongside the interstate and all as a cause of the shoddy mechanics who work at this service shop, who improperly completed my oil change 3 months ago by not ensuring that the drain plug was securely and properly tighten.
As a result, I ended up with my car covered in engine oil, a $600 bill for towing, and the service needed to fix their trashy work.

Was on a 3,000 mile road trip and had an issue with my car about 300 miles from home. This was on a Saturday early afternoon (most places close early on Saturday and aren't open Sundays) so it was really important for me to get it fixed right away or I'd be spending a few extra nights in Indianapolis unexpectedly.
I was't even sure my car would make it to a shop so I called around looking for a guarantee that someone could get to my car the same day. This was the only place that said if I could get to them right away they could have my car done before they closed.

After having less than stellar experiences with two other Indy area Honda dealerships in the service department I have now found a service home for my Honda CRV. The service manager was easy to talk to and help me secure a loaner vehicle as I need a vehicle driving between sites for my daily job. They even suggested dropping the car off after work the day before and securing the loaner so I wouldn't have to be there early the morning of my appointment. I received a call within two hours of opening with the diagnosis and estimate of cost and time to fix. They were even done early with another

My first experience was purchasing my commuter car. I had spent a month or more shopping around and was about to make a deal with the Mazda dealership up the road when they tried to pull a fast one and alter the terms of our deal at the last minute.
I walked out of that dealership and into Ed Martin. An hour later, I got an excellent deal on my new Civic! After the failed deal up the road, this felt like the clouds parting after an awful storm.

I've been a long time Ed Martin customer. Although, I've not always been able to get the lowest price when purchasing my Honda's, I wouldn't trust anyone else with the service of my vehicles. Most of the service advisors are very friendly and efficient. Our favorites are Kyle and Redd. The Service Manager takes his job very seriously. Every time I've been there, he is at his manager stand supervising or communicating on the phone. I would suggest he smile sometime. He's pretty intense, but probably needs to be in that position. I went into Ed Martin Honda with some pretty direct questions like why is this used car a little above retail, and met with Todd I had compared the two vehicles one CRV LX and CRV EX my second question was what is the difference. Todd replied well the LX won't have a moon roof for one (strike one) ok I can try to live without that, neither have remote start right? Honest Todd let's me no that the EX does indeed have remote start but not the one they have on their lot. Ok well I think I can put that in as long as they both have Apple car play. I am going to start this review by stating that I am not a fan of car dealers typically. I rank them about a step up from lawyers. :) I'm not a fan of the negotiation process.
Michael Johnson is a very genuine and kind sales person, and we felt comfortable right away doing business with him. We had a couple of small hiccups in our communication, but at the end of it all, Michael pulled through for us, and helped us get a great deal on a used vehicle for my son.

I have finally found a HOnda home in Indianapolis!! This is the only Honda dealership I've found in the Southern Indy area that has given total satisfaction in explaining any and all questions I have about my vehicle! Any yes I can get a bit chatty, Lol! What other dealers couldn't fix, Ed Martin Honda worked their magic and my air conditioning is back blowing "ice" cold and it didn't cost the $1000+ I'd been told by a different dealership! Will faithfully bring my vehicle for service here!

Redd and Dwayne were awesome! My mom and I were on a roadtrip from Oklahoma to Toronto and our entire drivers side wheel well liner and underbody deflector ripped off the car while we were on the highway. We stopped by at Ed Martin, gave them the situation and they were extremely helpful!
Redd did what he could to make sure we were ganna make it to our destination safe and told us what parts we're ganna need to replace when we get home. Redd, my service advisor was very kind and informative. I like that the waiting lounge has a separate office/desk room so that you can work while you wait.
I opted to wait and it took a little longer than expected for the service to be done. Was quoted 1:20 but it took closer to 2:00. They did let me know of their free shuttle so I could use that in the future instead of waiting.
Best part was not being upsold on services.

I was leasing a 2012 Honda Cross Tour - turned it in to Ed Martin at the end of the lease - May, 2015
They took care of the paper work. I paid whatever I had to pay - was told that my balance was zero.
In September I got a bill for $20 from American Honda Finance. Found out that it was a bill for INSUFFICIENT FUNDS CHARGE - because the check from Ed Martin bounced.
In November my name was turned over to a collection agency - now I have a bad mark against my credit (which is over 800 because I am never late) because Ed Martin Honda's check bounced!
