Glenn Wise began the founding of Carolina Contracting in 2012. The company was the next step for Glenn after working for several well-known large corporations in the construction industry for over 35 years. Glenn began his construction career working as a carpenter building houses in the summers during high school, he went on to graduate from Auburn University with honors with a B.S. degree in Building Sciences.
At Carolina Contracting, we bring a new approach to the contracting business. We have introduced the open book/cost plus type of construction to the region for new construction and remodeling projects that brings a whole new level of transparency to the industry. Very negative experience with CCI and their owner Glenn Wise. Our rehab project went $20,000 and 2.5 months over the original estimate, with no communication about either even when requested. When I demanded an actual update after four months (a little over when the project was supposed to be completed), I was given a half-filled in spreadsheet and told, "You can insert the percentage complete to adjust the numbers, I've entered the things I know of and you can use it to adjust things that you know of." Definitely would NOT recommend this company. The final cost of our remodel was 50% over the original estimate. Several things were not handled properly and went wrong during the entire process. After receiving the original estimate, and before work was to begin in one area, we had the construction supervisor come back out for a discussion for something we wanted as a possible change. We spent about 20 minutes talking about it, and wanted the new estimate before work was to begin in this area. This conversation was "forgotten" and work began anyway.
