Snowline offers full service building design, permitting & construction capabilities with our team of experienced engineers, designers and skilled craftsmen. We handle all phases in partnership with you, our client, every step along the way ensuring that your vision becomes reality. All drafting is Autocad generated which allows busy clients the ability to take part in the full design process anywhere they have internet access day or night.

Services
Snowline is a small family oriented hands-on company. Our subcontractors are our friends as are our clients. You deal directly with the owner and crews. We answer our own phones and even return calls, something unheard of in the construction industry! She developed a summer gardening program for her kids with the help of parents on an all volunteer basis.
The plans have been revised. Instead of hanging the building off the side of a mountain the Doug & Michele opted for flat ground. We designed a major cut/fill to create a huge flat area with a massively expansive view to the south, east & west. Below: Leif Wilson General Engineering cutting the Keyway.
This is a new design/build outdoor covered seating area for the Roundtable on Missouri Flat Rd. in Placerville. JVP Construction did the carpentry, Garry Franklin Masonry did the stone pillars, Duggars Welding did the steel fabrication & Griggsby Painting did the stain & paint. Also, believe it or not we had to install fire sprinklers.
These are the prelims for the future new construction replica of an old building that sat atop the front cellar of the original Skinner Vineyard wine caves from back in the 1860's. That is the Skinner family posed in front of the building. Located at the corner of Cameron Park Drive/Green Valley Rd. and Starbuck Road it is the location of the former Green Valley Nursery.

We have used snowline construction for multiple commercial projects. Jim, the owner, is a great guy and always treated us like family. The service and quality of his work is unmatched. Jim at Snowline provided a complete log cabin construction for me in 2002, a trailer and shop structure in 2019 and most recently an in-law conversion that is in progress. He is a transparent in all his dealings. You get a quality service with his years of knowledge and expertise, especially in dealing with El Dorado County. He has always been fair and honest and doesn't cut corners. He is NOT someone you should go to if you want to do it "outside" the permit process at the cheapest possible cost. That is not the Jim I have dealt with. A fair price for excellent work, which usually ends up cheaper

My wife and I have long dreamed of building our own house but it always seemed just a dream for the future until we got referred to Jim @snow line construction. He took our ideas and walked us through the design phase. We finished the design phase with a set of plans that fully encompassed what we wanted. Snowline built my remote, completely off-grid house in rural El Dorado County, a few years ago and I would recommend them (and have) with full confidence. They are builders of commercial structures and larger residential homes, so I lucked out. My project had quite a few unique features, but I also needed to keep within a budget. It started as raw land with only a pipe sticking up out of the ground for well water. No septic and no nearby power close enough to bring down to the parcel without an astronomically high cost so it needed to be powered by propane/solar.

We have had Snowline do 2 additions to our house and on both projects we were very pleased. Not only does Jim do quality work but his vision and suggestions for use of space available is amazing......so many things that we didn't even think of that Jim spotted right away and the results were beyond our expectations. He added two bedrooms for our kids which required a total demo of our vaulted ceiling and then added a 500 sf master bedroom, bathroom, office space which included a gas fireplace and deck with French doors. One of the best suggestions was using a sound proofing material for our walls

Jim build my parent's home in 1998 on our property. He made it bigger 12 years (I think) later. He made sure my business could open and did all the important jumping through the hoops at the county for us.
So obviously he is currently building our house.

UNRELIABLE - COMPLETE FLAKE - POOR WORK ETHIC - CHASING MONEY - POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE - Was given Jim's name as someone who could help with a remodel. Spoke to him on the phone made a plan for him to check the job site and to email him info. We emailed him he didn't respond. Two weeks later he claims he never saw the email and would come by. He finally comes by and spends our time getting all the info and has us email him again all of our ideas for the plan.
