Their warranty department told me to contact a supplier to replace a defective window. All my email communications with them have been polite. I occasionally asked for updates every 2-weeks, and this seems to be annoying for them, so they told me to do their job by contacting them. I don’t think they needed to escalate given I only ask for an update once a month or so.
UPDATE:
I contacted the window supplier to coordinate with Dostie and coincidentally they texted me back immediately to set up a replacement timeframe. Why did it come to this where I had to coordinate with a window supplier

Dostie is by far the worst home builder I have ever worked with. If you are considering Dostie for a new home I would proceed with extreme caution. When we built with them they promise the world until you sign your contract. We were told our home would be built within a couple of months after signing the contract because the foundation and frame were already up. In fact, when we viewed the home they had sheetrock in the home ready to install. Once we signed, the games began. One of the reasons we chose the home was their estimated build time which coincided with the start of the school year. Unfortunately

I only have good things to say about Dostie Homes. From the beginning, they worked with us within our timeframe (which was constantly changing) and we never felt pressured. We stated our goals for this house from the start and everyone at Dostie including Sam, Paul, and Heather, helped us decide where it was worth spending a little more and where we could save money. As a result, I feel like we have a beautiful home and stayed within our budget. I definitely recommend Dostie and would not hesitate to build with them again in the future!

The people at Dostie Homes are very nice. But....this is a builder you'll need to be managing on site every day. If you do then you will hopefully have quality issues addressed prior to when you move in. If you are building remote as we did, you may have a frustrating time. (Incorrect tile, counter tops, primed mahogany front door) Be sure to have a good home inspector perform at least two inspections. I'd recommend more as your build finishes. You should also be on site or have someone compare your color sheet with paint and tile choice vs what was installed.
