We had a messy move under a time constraint with a hospitalization thrown in just to further complicate matters. Our first moving team rocked it, but we ran out of time. I was referred over to Metro Moving & Storage, as they had some limited (last minute) availability. I talked with one of their people for about 45 minutes to explain the situation. I went room-by-room while on the phone, and we came up with a good game plan to have their movers help us finish packing & move the remainder of our belongings. I was told that this moving team had a smaller move scheduled for the following morning

I cannot reccomend this moving company. Here is my experience:
Things I was pronise: On my initial walkthrough I was told we would have 5 packers and one large semi truck. They were able to take apart my entertainment unit, they would provide wardrobe boxes and I didnt have to pack my hanging clothes. We both are 67 and needed all the help we could get. It sounded good so I choose this company.
What actually happened: On the day of moving they showed up with 2 uhauls. These were movers who were contracted out and new 2 Metro. 1 mover was only available for the truck load. Unfortunately he was

I had a fairly simple move under $1000 only a few miles, no big expensive stuff. In summary, the moving team is ok but the internal office is a joke. Any random person answers the phone and they don't get back to you quickly. They are a low tech, old school operation. They have little to no phone communication skills/processes and no email communication capability. They did not confirm the move like you would expect. I had to call a few times to ensure I was still on their schedule. The morning of the move the driver went to the wrong address and was then 1 Hr late after that.

Don't even think about using these people! Gave us a quote, and then presented us with a bill for 2.5 times more after the move was completed. Then threatened and harassed us with 40 phone calls over the course of 2 weeks when we did not pay the hyped amount. Many of the crew were rude, argumentative, demanded tips, did not listen to instructions on certain items that were fragile and not to be touched or packed (even tho labeled as such), broke many items, furniture arrived with dents, scratches, and other damage. Several antique pieces are missing. Much of what was packed on the lower floor

We were given a quote, and when the truck showed up were told a very different story. We were told that, all-in-all, it would be about $1,000 more than the quote.
There were a handful of reasons for this, none of which were acceptable and almost all of which could have been avoided with improved communication. When we expressed our displeasure, we were given a rude, "talk down to" response and decided to take our business elsewhere.

These guys were very helpful when setting up the move. Especially since I had to book a moving day less than a week away!
I originally went with a company that had good reviews, but they messed up on getting a move scheduled, so I called Metro Moving. They got all my info right and were at my house on time.
The move went smooth, they were quick and professional. I'd recommend them and use them again.
