We are father and son owner/operators and together we have over 20 years experience and know all the tricks of the trade. Packing, Wrapping, Taping, there is really so much that goes into the move before our professional movers arrive and here are some helpful tips to save you time and money. Use plenty of paper and bubble wrap with fragile items - and make sure to label the box fragile too!. While we are happy to disassemble and reassemble your furniture, if you choose to do it yourself you can save some additional time and money.

I have done my 2nd move in the last 3 years and Chad has been very professional and responsive on both of my moves. I can say that this is the only movers company who has been very reasonable on the prices as well without charging too much from customer like the other 10 companies I have contacted so far in Greensboro circle. The guys who come for the move were also friendly and professional to start the job as soon as they arrive rather than killing time. I would recommend this business for everyone and I would certainly use them if I'm moving outside of the states too if they offer the service

Overall 4.5 stars. Chad was easy to work with and always communicated promptly. He provided us with an estimate for 4 movers and 2 trucks and he sent 4 men and 2 trucks and honored his estimate. There was some slight furniture damage but Ahlgren’s took care of the repair work. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

Chad and his crew moved me from High Point, NC to Chesapeake, VA on Friday July 2. I cannot say enough about their commitment to excellence and treating each move, regardless of size, equally. My move was a small move, just enough stuff to fit into a one bedroom apartment. Chad even assisted with the loading in High Point to get his crew on the road at a decent hour since they did this in a single day. I would definitely recommend them for local or out of state moving needs. All of my antiques made it safely. Highly recommend!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Chad, the owner, came to my house and specifically told my wife and I that everything we needed moved would fit on a 26 foot truck. I reached out to him a couple nights before our move and informed him of a couch we weren't sure of taking was coming and he said that's fine. The day of the move, the movers show up 45 minutes late and take 4 hours to load the goods in 2 trucks instead of the promised 26 foot truck. We were moving to another city and needed our belongings moved from our apartment to a storage unit. I called Chad and he was very friendly and honest. I told him we had a two bedroom and I verbally listed what we had. In retrospect, he should have come out to take a look because the morning the two guys arrived, I took one look at the truck and realized it was likely too small. They had to go back to Greensboro to get a bigger truck and of course, it was an up charge. The guys who moved us were pretty good although one was much quicker and more careful than the other. Initially, I gave Ahlgren's a One-Star review due to the miscommunication and customer service by the owner (Chad). However, shortly after my review I was contacted by the owner, who prides himself and company on providing the utmost level of customer service. I was delighted to hear that the issue was resolved. As a result, I have referred this company to a fellow friend that will be moving in the next few weeks.

I recently used them for an in-state move(High Point-Durham, NC). They were very professional and quick. Granted, it was only enough things for a one-bedroom apartment, but they loaded and unloaded the truck very quickly. There were two things that bothered me, though. One, they called me the morning of the move, and said they were going to be an hour late. Two, they dropped one of my pieces of furniture and essentially ruined it. However, they weren't costly, and everything, save for a minor piece of furniture, was there and intact.

So, I moved from out of state, and the company was recommended by a friend. I spoke with Chad several times over the phone and via email, so along with my friend's recommendation, I felt confident that I would have a great experience. Let me tell you...NOT...SO...MUCH!
There were 3 men that came to move me in and it was a disaster. My furniture was wrapped in protective plastic to prevent scuffing; however, they removed it all before bringing the furniture into the house, so of course, they scuffed up freshly painted walls, my ceiling, the front door, stairs, my new couch and other furniture

I'm going to try and keep this review as concise as possible. We moved Saturday November 7th 2015 and I have given myself 10 days to process my experience so I could give the most honest and fair review possible. Chad, the owner, was the nicest guy I spoke with while scouting moving companies. He was extremely friendly and sounded like he actually WANTED our business. We moved from NC to CT. Worst move of my life. we hired them to pack too. Chad seemed so nice with his new tablet taking pics so he would get it right. HAH....The day of the move they didn't pack the truck properly and said we needed another truck and it would cost us $1500. more. So basically held us hostage. The trucks then got lost in the Bronx, NYC and hit a taxi. While I was waiting for them in CT. They ended up not calling me. 1am.... We hired movers to move my 80 year old grandmother from the house she's been in for over 50 years to a new condo across town. She was very concerned about protecting her furniture - and her memories - during the process. We could not be happier with our experience with Alhgren's Transport! The movers wrapped all of my grandmother's furniture and moved it thoughtfully. Throughout the process, they made my grandmother feel heard and they promised to take good care of her. I hired Ahlgren's Transport to move my belongings from one side of the city to the other. I was not impressed with how the leader of the team proceeded to flirt with my neighbors and even offered to help them move the furniture they were maneuvering into their apartment. When I addressed my concerns about the flirting and the slow pace of the movers his disrespectful attitude towards me was astonishing.

I moved here from out of state and was so pleased from first phone call to the last box brought in, with Ahlgren's. I just hired them to unload but wish I had them on the other end to have packed me up as well.
Chad, the owner was so helpful in coordinating everything and Theo and Chris who came to do the actual move were amazing. I couldn't recommend them enough and would use them again in a heartbeat!

I had a local move only a few miles in Winston. I have a decent amount of furniture, 3 bedrooms. I moved from a single family home to a tri-level townhouse. There were 3 men but they only charged me for 2. Took exactly 4 hours, and we had to make 2 trips back and forth from the house. The guys were great and I will definitely use them again! They take cash or personal check which was nice.

This guys simply put were on point, excellent etc etc. We had a terrible experience with a "reputed" moving company regarding my parent's move from Greensboro, NC to Michigan. We found Ahlgren and though skeptical at first Chad at Ahlgren walked us through everything regarding the move in a very smooth and pleasant manner. Chad, even while getting married over the weekend managed to stay in touch and coordinated the entire move.

I contacted Chad for a moving quote as their rates were extremely reasonable.
Two men came out to my apartment and moved 3 rooms into a new place in just under two hours. I will absolutely be using them again for all of my moving needs. They were on time, professional, and their quoted time was more than accurate.
A friend of mine used them about two weeks later and had a similar experience.
Of all the moving companies I've used, they are the best in town.

I called Ahlgren's Transport, and spoke with Chad Ahlgren about our local move from W-S to Greensboro. There was no issue scheduling the move over the phone. We arranged for two guys to arrive at our house and load our packed boxes onto their truck, then unload everything in our new home. They arrived a little late, but were very efficient in loading and unloading, so we ended up right on schedule. The price was reasonable.
