Lourie Architects is an award-winning firm that provides a broad range of design and planning services for educational, commercial, institutional and residential clients. Prior to forming Lourie Architects LLC, Jon Lourie worked for several prominent Washington, DC architectural firms including Keyes Condon Florance Architects (now part of Smith Group JJR), Shalom Baranes Associates Architects and Richard Ridley Associates.
Lourie Architects LLC has provided architectural design and construction administration for escalator well way canopies thoughout the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority system. The prototypical canopy design a graceful stainless steel and glass structure provides an instantly recognizable entry to the Metrorail system and complements the elegance of the original Metrorail system.
Lourie Architects has provided architectural and planning services for educational clients. Prominent projects at the George Washington University include the design and construction of a new Main Quadrangle, renovation of the I Street Mall, new ADA access facilities at the Law School, and renovation of the Applied Science and Engineering Building Lobby and Dean's Offices.
