Solid unfinished hardwood has been the traditional choice in the Maryland and Washington DC area due to the large number of wood subfloors and with wood floor joist construction.
Floor Medic can bring back that original shine and beauty with a complete refinishing. What's a complete refinish job entail? Your floor is sanded to bare wood and a choice of finish is applied in two or three coats (costs will vary). With virtually any color imaginable, Floor Medic can do color changes that better match your homes decor or newer trends in today's remodeling.
Doing some remodeling and moving walls? The question is always asked what to do with that hole in the floor from a previous radiator, electrical outlet or now unused return vent? You won't find many with the skill of making the area look like it was never repaired, but Floor Medic can! Floor Medic recently did the floors in a home I just bought in Gaithersburg. The prior owner had used a heavy wax throughout on the floors & steps as well as having spilled glitter literally everywhere. Rick worked with our timeline, helped us pick a color, and knocked the job out of the park. We absolutely love the floors & stairs!

We hired Floor Medic to refinish the entire main floor and stairs of a home we purchased as a short sale. There was at least 3500 square feet of pickled wood floors (Rick from Floor Medic was the only contractor who knew what it was when we were getting quotes) that had been damaged by the previous owners who allowed their pets to pee all over the place. There were dark black stains all through the house. I was a little nervous at first going with Floor Medic because I had only seen one review of them here on Yelp. BUT, I was not disappointed. Super happy with my recent sand and refinish. I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of quality with such a competitive price, but these guys are all business. Floors look great. Job was done in the exact timeframe I expected. I needed a couple of touch-ups afterward, and these guys were incredibly responsive with those requests.
I am used to contractors disappointing me, but Rick, Jimmy, and their team totally exceeded all my expectations!!

These guys gave me a great estimate with an excellent price and were on the job in a couple of days. They were done quickly, kept everything clean, and made my wood floors unbelievably beautiful.
I would use them again if I needed floors restored. They were able to fix and patch areas to make them look new and keep in line with the character of my home.
