Shelley Carpets is family-owned and operated by the Brownings, who were born and raised in the Sarasota, Florida area. The Brownings purchased Shelley Carpets in 1987 from former owner, James Shelley. After doing business in Sarasota for 17 years, they purchased their current showroom location in 2004.

From the moment my wife and I stepped in we were greeted by “Laney” very pleasantly. She was very helpful in trying to find the best color and carpet for the best value with us. She didn’t hesitate to show us remnant rolls in the back and presented the “Special Sale Items” in the showroom, one of which we went with. We appreciated that they took half down and the other half after the carpet was installed......Speaking of instal, it was excellent!! At first when “Gary” showed up alone and confirmed he was doing the job solo I was honestly unsure how it would go, I “assumed” it

We visited twice to try to match up some carpet for a home in another state. Even though they knew we wouldn't be buying from them, they went out of their way to look things up, get us information and talk carpet choices. Both guys were very friendly and more knowledgeable than the folks we're working with back home!! And they do love to "talk story," as we'd say in Hawaii! I should mention that they have a very wide variety of product--it's a larger showroom than one might think from outside.

I Purchased carpet for my home Before I put up for sale and for my office and I have been very impressed by this company both times. Most recently I called them to replace some office carpet. They had commercial carpet in stock which is nice. I told them I needed it in three days. They worked like crazy to find a Saturday installer but couldn’t find one but then rearranged the schedule to get it on the next best day for me which was a Tuesday. The installer was professional and they did a great job. The whole time they were very responsive. Great local carpet company
