I was born and raised in Durham and am committed to this diverse city. The people are warm and generous, there is a wide range of activities and opportunities, including hometown sports both professional and collegiate, entertainment, dining, and higher education. There is something for everyone! As a Durham businessman, I am committed to giving back to this city and will continue to sponsor activities here that benefit the less fortunate.
Getting started begins with two of the most important parts of the home remodeling process: communication and collaboration. First, we encourage you to reach out to us here or by phone. You can expect a prompt reply from us as we immediately begin to gather and share as much information as possible regarding your project.
For our employees, this is evident by the family-like culture that we have built and the many benefits that we provide. We recognize the privilege of being invited into your home, and we want you to know our commitment to you. It's important you understand who we are and how we will work with you. Our process-from the initial project intake, designing the space, picking out cabinets, tile and fixtures to ensuring that the end product feels truly amazing-will take the mystery out of home remodeling.
There is a lot that goes into even the smallest project, so before you get started with a major renovation, be sure to read through this helpful guide so that you can avoid budget surprises and unfortunate setbacks. Budgeting is probably the least fun part of any renovation project, but skip this important step and you will be setting yourself up for a major disappointment.

I selected CQC Home based on recommendations from the Nextdoor app. Unfortunately, I have been so busy that I haven’t followed up on starting my kitchen remodel. However, I decided to post a review now because the representative, Jamie Ciccoline, who worked with me through the process was so responsive, friendly, understanding, and very accommodating of my schedule. I am still considering doing some remodeling and will be contacting her again. I will follow up with another review once I receive an estimate or complete the project.

The entire team at CQC did an excellent job on our renovation project. The design team really listened to what we needed from the space. They put together a design plan that improved upon our initial plan for the space and brought our vision to life. Both Jonathan and Erica were easy to work with and made the design process easy. The construction crew and our project manager kept the work moving and were very responsive to our requests. The subcontractors hired did an excellent job and were respectful of our space. Our experience working with Justin as our project manager was outstanding. He is

We contacted CQC after purchasing a home in Chapel Hill sight unseen from Singapore. We planned to do a gut renovation on the house before we moved back to the US. CQC was wonderful to work with from the beginning to the end of the design process. The team even did a thorough presentation of the design plans for my parents who came down from NJ to see the house. We decided not to proceed with the renovation, ended up selling the house, and buying a smaller home that required much less work. I'm sure that if we had gone ahead with the renovation, it would have continued to be a pleasure to work

CQC is an excellent firm that is professional from start to finish. We performed a large remodel of our house including a full kitchen remodel as well as the tear down of an old addition and construction of a new addition. In the consultation phase, they were clear in setting expectations and reasonable in their estimates. Raymond Orzulak was expert in his ability to translate our ideas into real world plans and estimates. After we went through a complete design process, our project began on time and was supervised by the able Caleb Murray who made sure we were constantly updated. What's more,

Kitchen, bath, and laundry room remodel. CQC was professional and responsive to all of our needs. Shawn and Justin were great to work with. There we’re some hiccups, but everything was addressed appropriately, and we have a wonderful end result. We did this in early 2020, and they provided a very safe work environment during the start of the pandemic. They continue to be a resource for us!

We just completed a kitchen and bath renovation project with CQC and are delighted with the result. The process was painless. There was clear communication at all stages. Everyone we dealt with was pleasant and professional. Cindy Gilmore was our designer and she quickly gauged our taste and made choosing various materials and fixtures an easy process. She was always available for advise and because we trusted and valued her advice, we felt free to call on her with questions even after the design phase was completed. Our project leader was Justin Koch. He kept us informed with the progress by email

The entire CQC team did an excellent job on our complex project to add a master suite to our second story. Justin kept the project moving and was a diligent communicator, Wes provided excellent woodwork, Eric was helpful on multiple tasks, and Mac gave us great design advice. The subs did high quality work as well, especially Jesus and his team. The entire experience was all we could ask for.

We were looking to convert a two story room into a loft, and had asked a number of teams' to provide quotes. CQC was by far the easiest to work with! Cindy Gilmore did an amazing job during the design phase, and was a really good partner on our ideas and things she thought would go well with our style. We had our own Project Manager Kevin Barbour who was a great single point of contact, did everything from coordination of subs to sweeping the floors prior to inspections. Mike Dean and John Farmer were our carpenters, and they were great to be around. They also 'nailed' a great custom distressed

CQC converted our two story foyer into additional bonus room space. I am an interior decorator and project manager on multiple remodels and new builds and I can say they were excellent to work with. Highly recommend CQC!

CQC has a systematic approach that really works. They came out to meet us and look at our kitchen and laundry room remodel we were interested in doing. Then, we agreed to have the designers come to gather specific measurements and listen to our ideas. Mac and Jessica were open to all ideas, and we provided pics to help visualize what we were looking for. From there, they worked up a design and proposed a timeline and price to do the work. At this point, we paid for the design, it was ours. If we didn’t feel comfortable we could have walked away at that point. So glad we didn’t. Having the overall

Ken Combs, the owner of CQC, sold us our house back in August of 2018. Being first time homebuyers looking for our starter home, we were more than ecstatic to finally move into what seemed like the perfect house. Let me just start by saying, do not ever buy a house this company has flipped.
Our kitchen ceiling began falling in several months after purchase and had to be repaired by CQC, who charged us $1500. Not a big deal. Several of the cabinets were also not completely screwed into the wall, causing them to come loose off while I was standing below. I was able to reattach them on my own.

The team at CQC just wrapped up their third project at our house, and we are thrilled! They first updated our 1988-vintage kitchen and baths, then completely rebuilt a leaky screen porch (which is now my favorite place in the house), and most recently added a bedroom/bath suite in our lower level. We give them highest marks for attention to detail, quality workmanship, and genuine concern for the clients' satisfaction.

I am absolutely thrilled with the way our kitchen remodel turned out. THRILLED.
Richie K. and I moved into our home in August 2016. The kitchen was livable, but we knew we were going to have to invest in a remodel eventually. The next summer, we bit the bullet and started getting estimates. CQC was by far the most impressive in terms of communication and customer service. Even if their portfolio hadn't been so nice, we might have still hired them for that reason.
