As with any product that you might buy, you should always research the different types of hardwood floors on the market today to see which is best for your needs and style. Hardwood floors are a long-lasting product known for both their natural beauty and also durability. In addition, they are affordable, easy to maintain, good for the environment, and a healthier alternative to carpet.
Hardwood is perhaps the most practical of all flooring materials. But over time, the protective finish may wear off, most noticeably in heavy traffic areas. This is the prime reason for refinishing a hardwood floor. We provide an easy way to sand and refinish your hardwood floors. Applying a modern new finish can even make hardwood floors much easier to maintain than when they were originally installed.
Hardwood floors may need repairs for a variety of reasons - broken boards, pet damage, water damage, walls removed, vents relocated, holes in boards, buckled flooring, etc. With the proper flooring and expertise, repairs can be blended into the floor seamlessly. Over the years, many hardwood floors develop small splits or cracks in the surface of the wood.
Early in our "buff and polish" project, Rochester Hardwood was so responsive to all of my questions, concerns and time frame. When the scheduled day arrived, the workmen were timely and proceeded straight to the project. When we came home from dinner that night, the floors were gleaming! I didn't have the dust and disarray from previous projects.
The first decision to make is whether you should even consider if you floor should be stained or if it should be kept in its natural state. What Type of Wood Do You Have? If you have an exotic, rare or special wood floor such as mahogany, cherry, rosewood, walnut, aged pine and even maple then you may want to leave them in their natural state.

We had a combination of services performed by RHF. One area was a refinishing job and the adjoining area was installing new hardwood and finishing. RHF took great care to match the exact wood (yellow birch) that was in the existing area for the new floors. The process in total was five days with multiple workers on site. Mike, one of the owners, was very involved in the entire process which was very reassuring to us. Everyone that came to our home was extremely professional, polite, and neat. Every possible measure was taken to keep the workplace clean and dust free. The results were spectacular

I want to say we are very happy with our experience. They rushed to fit us in because we had a small window of time to get this job done. They held to their dates, and the job turned out exceptional. Refinishing a hardwood floor is no easy task, however they helped to make it very easy and stress free. They even put back our refrigerator and Stove which was a major concern of ours not to mark the new floor. I don't give many 5 stars, but this is well deserved!

I recently purchased a home, when we ripped up the carpet there was a bunch of paint and plaster all over the floors. We had a “handyman” come & sand the floor down and stain it. Long story short it was a disaster, it was very streaky & it wasn’t sanded down down to the bare wood. I hated it, so I called Rochester hardwood floor they came and gave me a very reasonable estimate and were able to do two of my rooms within a couple weeks and it only took 3 days to complete them. I couldn't be happier with the job they did. The estimator worked with me in terms of the square footage of wood flooring to be sanded and refinished as I did not want to do over the entire hardwood flooring in the house. They feathered the coating into the other areas of hardwood so expertly that it is almost impossible to tell where the work stopped.
Another company told me that I would definitely have to do almost the entire hardwood flooring as it would be very noticeable where the job stopped(of course the estimate was much higher).

SUPER happy with Rochester Hardwood flooring. They came in to refinish our existing hardwoods in our dining room and hallway, and install new ones in the living room. They were extremely communicative and on time. They say they are dustless, and I couldn't agree more, SO CLEAN. They were able to match our existing wood floors with the new ones flawlessly. Ron and Brian were polite and friendly, hard workers and very professional. Would definitely use them again if we need it!
