Services
The first step is to arrange for a free, in-house estimate with one of our estimators. We recommend that you set up your appointment at least 30 days before your planned move date. You want to have time to review your estimate as well as secure the dates you need. Moves are booked on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Kaster Moving Company was founded by Kevin J. Kaster in 1977 and he continues to run the company today. I have moved several times in my life and Kaster was HANDS DOWN the most professional movers I have ever had!! From beginning to end, I was moved efficiently, professionally and, most importantly, in a very organized manner so that when I got to my new home, it was SO easy to unpack each room. If there were more stars, I would give Kaster a 10 plus in stars. From now on I will only use Kaster for every move.

Our needs were communicated and it seemed like they were understood, however, when moving day came we wondered what happened. It was not as stated. We were charged extra monies for the move...we asked them to pack the storage containers in a certain order for pickup from our driveway, and even put labels on which they totally disregarded and made a nightmare on the other end of the move. Asking the two men in charge of the move to please remember the attic items and were assured both times it was done. Kaster moved my household from Connecticut to Rhode Island in May 2018, and it was a good experience from beginning to end. Their office staff was very helpful, and they were able to be flexible on my final move dates. On moving day the crew was very quick, careful, hardworking and efficient. Kaster has handled a few moves for us over the years, from really short several years ago (1 mile in-town) to last fall moving out of CT. All have gone as smoothly as possible. After one initial visit for the estimate, handling everything by phone and email with the office was easy. They were very flexible with closing date issues, etc., and total pros.

After a drawn out closing we finally had a moving date at hand. Kaster was incredibly flexible and worked with us the entire way. The day of the move went so smoothly. The men who came to our house were great! Friendly, patient and very efficient. They listened to us and treated our belongings as if they were theirs. We could not have been more pleased!

If I could give negative stars I would. My $9,000 move from NYC to NJ was a nightmare that still won't end. After total disregard for us during our move, we are now in month 4 of trying to finalize a claim for all the damage they did to our property.
We used Kaster in 2007 and had a very positive experience. Unfortunately the 2nd time in May was a disaster. The packers were late every day and did such careless work we have thousands of dollars in damage to recoup. They left us with a damaged piano, 2 broken TVs, and furniture destroyed beyond repair. Moving is always stressful but Kaster definitely helped ease that stress! Kevin orchestrated moving my fiancé's house and mine (a block apart) in to our new home. The whole process beginning with the initial walk through estimate, delivering supplies and the actual move was timely, professional and reasonably priced. The crew was courteous and personable and was the same crew we used the prior year. We would highly recommend Kaster, in fact we did and our friends felt the same way!

We recently used Kaster for a move into NYC. Moving into NY is complicated but John and the office staff made it seem easy. The guys doing the actual moving were professional, accommodating and well versed in the complexities of NY. Overall a day I was stressed about went very smooth. I highly recommend Kaster Moving.

Kevin Kaster and his team moved us out of our house in Darien into a New Canaan rental in May/June 2016; stored our furniture for 17 months; and moved us from our New Canaan rental to our new Stamford townhouse in October/November 2017. The total cost was reasonable related to the services provided (remember...we're talking Lower Fairfield County here...) and quality of the service was truly excellent.

If you want movers with a poor, angry attitude than this is the place to go. They've got Bad communication and a lack of cohesive teamwork which makes for moves that take three times longer than they should.
Wouldn't recommend them to anyone anymore.
Moving is hard enough, Kaster needs to find crews that are hard working and understanding,
that know the customer is always right.
While I'm at it, Kaster needs to also retrain the dispatcher Richard. He needs to learn that being "on Time" is not ultimately important but it is customer satisfaction that ultimately matters

Our family used kaster for a large move. They do a great job on the front end selling you. However, the fees they quote are never the final fees. They nickel and dime you all over the place. That was just the first problem.
Kaster movers where the first people in our home after the finishes were complete. When the movers delivered our furniture and items from storage, they did not bring any wall coverings or floor coverings. They nicked up with walls extensively, then tried to blame the painters that were present finishing on the trim. We recieved no compensation or apology for the extensive
