Turner & Son Homes
When it comes to putting a home budget together, you have to consider the type of custom home builder that you're hiring, floor plan details, as well as costs for building, contractor fees, energy efficient modifications, and more. Buying a piece of land sounds so simple, but is often more complicated than you would think.

We've seen everything from land that's too flat for drainage to flood plains that weren't properly noted. Attention to detail in custom builds is crucial. Your design builder team provides expert advice for a quality custom home where your future can grow. With input from you on your preferred floor plans and land and home details, together you can design a home that is unlike any other.

Building a home is easy. Once you are committed to building, have the plans and the land, the actual construction of a house is straightforward. Not all builders will help you with issues outside of the construction, though. We have good relationships with strategic partners, including Realtors and bankers, that we rely on to help us serve our customers well.
Services
There are those who run away from challenges out of fear or laziness, and there are those who take on the challenge if for no other reason than to prove it can be done. We've seen this happen time and time again in the building world. Builders cut corners or work inefficiently to improve their profits.
Tim, President of Turner & Son Homes, joined his father in the home building business in 1999, bringing a wealth of experience, knowledge, and attention to detail. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1990, at which time he joined the US Marine Corp as an officer.
There are a lot of things that have changed since we began in 1964, but there's at least one thing that hasn't: people like you still want to live the way you want, and you don't like it when other people like builders or homeowner's associations tell you what you can and can't have in your home. It's not just about the house, either.
Turner and Son Homes was founded in 1964 (as Turner Building Company) with one very simple philosophy: If you're going to build homes people want to buy, you'd better figure out how to build what people want at a price they can afford. It sounds pretty simple, but it's surprisingly hard to execute.
Just because most builders are scared of it, doesn't mean it's not the best option for you. And we love a challenge. That's why Turner & Son is dedicated to helping you navigate the scary and painful process of building on your land, from beginning to end. We meet you where you are, find out where you're going, and clear the path for you.

Poor communication. No follow up. Constantly having to check on things throughout the building process (they'll say you don't have to). Have had to have workers out multiple times to fix same issues over and over instead of it getting done right the first time. Closed in August and still waiting on someone to show up and fix the blower on our fireplace and damage to our yard. Multiple emails, calls, and texts to project manager with no response. When we do get a response it's only excuses as to why it hasn't been done MONTHS after the fact. Have talked to multiple tradesmen and home owners with

Positive: Value
We used Turner and Son for a custom build on acreage. From construction loan to finish, the process was great! Tim and his staff are great to work with and I would highly recommend anyone thinking of building give them a call!

I can highly recommend Turner and Sons they helped us build a custom home in an historic area and were able to manage through that process. The custom design of the home was excellent. The communication could be improved but I believe we had some area to over come during the pandemic that made building a little more difficult. The end product was excellent and we get daily complements on how nice the house is. Thanks to Tim, Jerry and Sam!

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness
If you are building a $500,000 home they are all about helping but if you are building a $200,000 home good luck and run fast in the other direction. No communication, could care less one way or the other!
Services: Design, Project management

Great to work with during design phase, helpful in understanding the home building process. I suspect it will just get better going forward. And possibly make it to 5 stars by the end.

We poured about 3500 sq foot of driveway and 50% of it is extremely cracked some 3/4 of an inch. So at this point it MUST be replaced. Our walkway has cracks every 8 ft. Project manager basically couldn’t care less and told us that was normal. This is the same project manager that talked us out of putting rebar in it. Mind you this is inside of our warranty period. I decided not to fight with them because building our house was very stressful and I was tired but it would be nice to get some resolution.

I can personally speak to who Tim is as a person. He is very mentally acute and focused on providing his customers with the best possible experience that he can. What really wow's me is the blog section on his website! He has taken the time to write over 200 articles that help explain the home building process and make it really easy for his customers to understand. I would highly recommend this company to build your new home!

See other above 1 star review from John Smith. Our experience was EXACTLY the same. Communication is awful!! The more you pay and further along the build gets the worse they get. The price you pay is not quality work. And your 'supervisor' wont have a clue what is going on or wrong or right with your build.. Save yourself the headache and just keep looking.. We regret our decision to let them build our "dream home".

When they tell you they can build you a home for cheap. They really mean CHEAP. They uses cheap material through out their homes and they don't use any energy efficient stuff to build their homes. Their uses cheap light fixtures, kitchen appliance, and bathroom material. They use the bare minimum on energy efficient stuff. They only use R-13 fiber glass insulation in the exterior wall, R-30 on the flat ceiling, and R-19 on the slopped ceiling. That's basically it when it comes energy efficient on their home besides the low-e window which every other builder uses also. They can't even tell you how
