After serving in the United States Army, he had plans to attend Howard University School of Law. Due to limited financial resources, his plan did not materialize. From a borrowed five-hundred-dollar capital, Allen Burrus was able to purchase a truck and he started as local movers soliciting business for U-Haul customers.

I had never used a moving company in my entire life. Allen & Son made my experience smooth, scratch less, streamlined. I have allot of Antique Furniture, NOT ONE SCRATCH. I have three model ships, not one was damaged. Allen & Son is the best of the best and without any hesitation I will be using them again !!!

The last thing anyone wants to do after a loss in the family.... is move!!! Allen and Sons made this truly 'stress free'. Their attention to detail and respect for my loss and protection of precious items was exceptional. My father would have approved. and so do I.

Great moving experience today. Nigel, Calvin and Curtis did an excellent job. Friendly, courteous and hard working! Very hot day and they still worked their a**es off. They did a great job loading and unloading, took good care of everything. Allison in the office was also a pleasure to speak with for scheduling. Thank you to all! Great company all around. and highly recommended.

I arranged for my move several months in advance with one of their associates, spending weeks discussing the details and ensuring that my move would work.
I call today, a month before my move, and apparently he no longer works with them, did not file the paperwork correctly, and they are unable to service my move, leaving me to scramble for another mover during the worst time of year to do so - in exactly the kind of situation I hoped to avoid.
Had I relied on a more professional operation, this would not have happened. I cannot recommend this service if you want a reliable company.

I had a great experience with Allen & Son. Scheduling was easy and they did not require a deposit to reserve a date. They allow you to rent a few of the packing material for reasonable prices, then you don't have to dispose of after. My move coordinator was responsive and helpful. On move day, the crew was friendly, hardworking, and took great care with our items. They did a great job disassembling and reassembling our large platform bed. Their hourly rate is very reasonable. They even junked my old box spring that I had nowhere to store. I would recommend them.

I called and the quickly set up a move for very heavy furniture. Two staff came and were extremely professional, pleasant and move everything as requested. Really two very nice men and a very prompt service. Would definitely use them again.

I just moved from Baltimore to DC and I was so impressed with the team at Allen & Son. From the initial assessment through the entire day’s move, Allen & Son get 5 stars through and through! They were hard working, dedicated, careful, charismatic, on time, and set the standard of how moving should and could be done! The reviews listed before are 100% correct and they lived up to and beyond anything I could imagine. If I ever move again I will definitely use them and recommend them to everyone I know!

The entire process was very smooth. The moving staff arrived on time at our house. They rolled a carpet on the floor to make sure the hardwood doesn't get damaged. All furniture was properly disassembled and wrapped for protection. Also, special care was taken for all fragile items, which were wrapped with extra cushioning. The staff (Reggie, Donte, Curtis, Nigel and Man) were very professional and quick in the moving process. They finished all their tasks before the expected timeline. The staff was also courteous to help us with trashing some heavy furniture items which we did not want to
