I had a leak and called Lucas Ltd to fix. It was a pipe leaking, and they were able to fix the problem within one and half hour, and the bill was $495. It was just too expensive. Then I called them and question the price, and the guy was rude and not professional. I like to support local business, but I will NEVER use them again. It was a rip off for sure!

Had a problem with my kitchen faucet leaking a bit, called Lucas was able to get an appointment within 2 days (non-emergency). The plumber Nick, was very respectful, put his booties on when entering my house, diagnosed the problem and was able to fix it quite easily. Unfortunately, when attempting to take apart the faucet some minor damage was done to the finish, Lucas stepped right up and ordered a replacement at no charge. Dependable, reasonable and responsible, what else could you ask for from your plumber?

We have the good fortune to be clients of Joe Lucas and his team for 30 years, as had our home's previous owners. I had an excellent experience with Lucas today. Greg was on time and fixed a leak in our sink, replaced the garbage disposal, along with repair to existing pipe in the basement where the leak was dripping water on my basement ceiling. The work is of a very high quality. While it seemed a little on the pricey side (though not overly pricey), I prefer to pay for quality. If you want trusted, high quality plumbing work, Lucas should be on your list to call.

Called Lucas Plumbing to come out for a few small jobs in our house - they scheduled me for the next day. I was told they would come prepared with shoe coverings and most importantly - masks.
When they arrived, they both had useless cloth masks around their necks and one did not have shoe coverings. I first gave him shoe coverings and he looks at them with an attitude, saying "they're not going to fit". Then I asked him about masking up. The one did, the one with the attitude reluctantly did as well, but only putting it half on. I was getting a really strong d***khead vibe

Called Lucas and they are prompt and timely to repair a leaking propane gas line in the house. Gas line was accessible and they started the analysis by pumping 15 psi air and pointed out one location that was leaking. instead of removing and re-tightening the pipe, they installed their own company shutoff value which was unnecessary as the leak was on the thread not on the shutoff valve. I had outside work, therefore I have to run out, after 4 hours, they did not come up with any other leak and did not certify the leak was fixed. The bill was $750 and since I have not asked about the total amount

I am so incredibly please with Lucas Ltd and their plumbers on staff. I have used them four or five times and each time I am left impressed with their professionalism. Today was no exception, Greg was the plumber who installed a new faucet in our kitchen and even gave me some pointers on how to keep my drain clean and some garbage disposal 101 education. We were charged $650 to replace a garbage disposal. Amazon's price and other sellers charge around $300 for the disposal we got. Labor then would be $350 for an hour's work on the disposal. There were no complications. It was not a weekend, after hours or a holiday. Other work done in the house was a separate charge. Receptionists and plumber were nice. The owner was not. Reasonable requests on our part were not received well. He said it was his flat rate that he charges for this disposal and his plumber. He refused a breakdown of the bill. He insisted it was a fair price in Newtown

I try to support local, but I feel like I was taken advantage of here and the service was terrible. I will say that everyone that I interacted with was very nice especially the receptionist. I think her name was Pat. I am not a troll and do not enjoy bad reviews, but I feel it is my duty to inform people. So I am just posting the facts:
1. $700 to install a toilet that I supplied including replacing a broken flange
2. They placed dirty toilet parts on my rug and it is stained
3. The supply line was incorrectly installed resulting in a slow leak that eventually was discovered when I had water dripping

I called Lucas on Sunday 25, 2017 because I had low water pressure and I thought no hot water. Steve was in my home for an hour and a half to find out what the problem was. It was found that I had a well problem and I subsequently called my well company to fix the problem. Steve had to rewrap my hot water heater with insulation, but did no repairs other than that. He charged me $390.00 for the above service. I checked the charge with a friend in the business and was told that I paid TWICE the amount which should have been charged. I was given a yellow carbon copy of the bill which was illegible

TheBad: If you are looking for things like updating your bathroom or getting toilets or faucets installed I would schedule the work with another plumbing company.
They are at very expensive with their job pricing and on top of that will nickel and dime the heck out of you. They also make your job seem really hard to do so that when you get the bill it's not that bad. Trust me it is! I had them at my home for about an hour to move

We recently called Lucas to fix a leak in our fridge water line. Never thought I'd have to call them 2 days later for emergency service. But yeah, our water heater decided to implode at 5 pm today, leaving us without hot water. With kids to wash, dishes to do and laundry to run, this was not good news.
Two hours later Lucas was in there removing the old unit and installing the new one. By 930 pm we were all set. They literally left the competition in the dust. Companies that I called at 5pm still hadn't returned my calls just as Lucas was wrapping up.

Forget about the other. Mr. Lucas owns this company his name is on the trucks his name is his bond. they are the BEST. We use Steve the plumber is the very best BUT if he is not available they are all GREAT. Nice doing business with a small business man instead of a chain. They do everything.

Lucas had arranged with me to have someone at the house to fix a broken toilet between 8 and 10. There was no way to know in advance that a one hour job would become a four hour slog. They were courteous enough to call me twice to alert me to the circumstances, and offer to reschedule for next week

Lucus LTD was recommended to me from a friend and I had them come out to replace a kitchen faucet and drain and I couldn't have been happier. The guy who came out was very courteous and professional. I know someone mentioned they were expensive but I have had 3 other plumbers come out for quotes and Lucus LTD was about $20-$30/hr less then the others so I would say their rate is reasonable. I think I found my new plumber!

We called Lucas sine our building maintenance recommended them. Unfortunately the 1st appointment was a mixup,I asked for a call 1/2 hr prior to arrival. Got a call from the tech he was there waiting. Guess I was gonna pay for that, after looking at hot water tank he charged $300 for an estimate. After a few calls I was told I would only pay for the parts. They charged me $750 for 2 parts that cost them $225 & $ 20.

More recently, I had a devil of a problem. A cake of soap really gummed up my old toilet. I probably worsened the situation with a plunger before calling Lucas. The soap could only be removed in sticky segments. The initial service got the toilet up and running, but I had to ask for for additional work two weeks later when it began acting up again.

I've seen their red trucks all over town and decided to give them a call the morning after discovering the cold pipe to our hot water heater was leaking pretty badly. A friendly voice answered the phone at 7:30am and said they could send somebody right over. (They also said on their after-hours vmail that they'll return emergency phone calls 24/7 within 20 minutes - WOW!) Ours wasn't a true emergency since I was able to shut the water off further upstream to stop the leaking.
