We use only the finest products from world-renown manufacturers that we have personally selected based on their reputation, quality and durability. Most of our decks are composite material such as TREX and AZEK. We still build with wood as well. Most railings are vinyl or aluminum. Our Pergola material is a baked enamel aluminum that looks like wood and comes in different colors.
Most projects are low maintenance, have extensive warranties and are installed with care by our courteous, professional crews. You'll find our projects in some of the finest homes throughout Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and numerous other communities throughout the Hampton Roads area.

After a long time planning and interviewing contractors, my wife and I chose Outdoor Designers to build a screened-in porch in our backyard. They did a fantastic job! The end product is exactly what we wanted, hand-built to our specs, including some very detailed work tying a beautiful A-frame roof into an intricately shaped rear section of our house. John and his crews are busy, so we did have to wait a little longer than we planned for them to start the project, but it went fairly quickly once started and we're very happy we chose them for the project. Outdoor Designers did a fantastic job. So my husband said in my review I should mention how picky I am and that i am a perfectionist and I will add my husband is also very particular about work. John and his team surpassed my expectations. The job was absolutely perfect. Every detail was taken care of, without little issues left behind, like can be seen with others. We had a 20-year-old deck and above ground pool that was falling apart and wanted to replace it with a nice screened in porch. We decided to call Outdoor Designers because we saw pictures of previous jobs and really liked what they had to offer. I really hate to leave this type of comment, but I feel like I am left with no choice. In 2012, Outdoor Designers created a beautiful trex deck for me at a cost of $23,000. 8 years later, all the lights go out on the deck. A call to John was made who stated his crews were busy and to call him back in a couple weeks. A couple weeks went by..called again and asked if anyone was available. Again, John said he was busy and I should call an electrician. Problem is,, the deck was built with no service points and the only way to get at the light board is go pull up the deck boards. Outdoor Designers removed an old deck on the back of my home and replaced it with a beautiful composite deck with a full apron of steps. I was delighted with the design and their timely work. It was beautifully completed in the timeframe promised, the worksite was kept clean during the process, and the gentlemen who performed the work were very professional. I hate having to write this review but the owner, John, left me no choice. I feel I need to warn others of the extremely poor service. I spent $16,000 on a new screen porch with this company. Within a couple of months there was a board that had come loose. I emailed a picture to them and was told they would have someone come out to fix it. No one ever did. Then I have had an annoying leak right in the middle of the screen porch that started after about a year. They would not fix that since they said the warranty is up after a year. I called two other companies to come and check out the leak situation
