What a great experience. Halina and her husband Antoni were lovely to work with. They are local members of the West Hartford community for over thirty years. They don’t have a call center or a several teams of tree removal trucks with freshly painted logos your paying off loans for. They have the right equipment for tight spaces and tall trees like many WH center homes have. What they do is extend a relationship with the customer, you feel comfortable having them do other work when it’s time for it or hearing about deep sea fishing. They get very busy, they respond in emergency’s! My neighbor

Requested free estimate on two separate occasions. Was told husband had to come out to approve her verbal estimate. Neither of which happened. When I called to find out the status, I was once again given the run around so I asked if they wanted the job involving these trees which posed a danger to my property or not. Helena got upset and told me “don’t blame the mirror for being ugly” and hung up on me. Totally unprofessional and disgusting treatment of a customer.

We have used Alton multiple times over the years, we have always been very pleased with their promptness, pricing, and level of service they have offered.
Our yard is always very clean afterward. They were so good- to the point where they would put boards below where the truck would travel on our lawn so as not to make tire imprints- even when it hadn't rained and the ground was very dry anyway.
We would recommend their services to anyone.

This family owned company was very helpful in removing downed trees from a really bad storm. Other companies I called told me there was a two month waitlist. Despite a heavy workload, Alton’s came over the same day I called to provide me a reasonable estimate and the following day, my yard looked like nothing ever happened. 5-star service indeed!

I ordered firewood from Alton at the beginning of the new year and I now know, why it was the best price in the area. 2 months later it still is drenched to the bone. Despite their claims of the wood being old and dry, pools of moisture spill out the ends of logs when heated.
While the Alton wood sits useless in my garage for the last 60 days, I've gone out and bought more wood from other services. I called Alton to let them know of my concerns and they did not call me back.

Small business operating out of West Hartford, good people and incredible service. The tree on the pictures took them less than an hour to take down to the stump, which they also remove. Their equipment allowed them to get into the back yard through a roughly 7 foot wide access path without being destructive and invasive. Definitely service worthy of recommendation.

We were extremely happy with the work that Alton Tree Services provided. They were friendly, efficient, and they cleaned our yard up better than it was before. No damage to the grass, even though the trees were in the back and they had to cross the whole front yard to get there. They don't accept credit cards, but it wasn't a big deal to mail a check instead.

The company did a good job of taking my tree down. Their price was competitive and I appreciated their prompt removal. I own property in CT, but live in another state. I had them remove the tree and was then asked for payment. I asked how I should send payment. They said they only accepted checks. That's an extremely outdated system, but I went to the bank and got some checks and went to the post office to get stamps and envelopes. It was a pain, but I did it because I wanted to make sure they were paid for the work. After sending the check in the mail, they didn't receive the check.

This company was recommended to us from various people on a local town Facebook page, and I was not disappointed. Very reasonable and up front cost estimate, and prompt completion of the project. They told me at the outset that they might have to split up the job due to ongoing emergency tree removals causing them to be backed up, yet nevertheless were able to complete all tasks within the original time estimate. The entire staff conducted themselves with professionalism and courtesy, and the final results were excellent. Highly recommended.

Terrible experience. My wife arranged an appointment to have a tall pine removed. Helena failed to properly schedule the visit and apologized, rescheduling for the next day. She arrived on time and explained that a quote would be delivered to our mailbox with no further involvement from us.
That night, a Friday at 8:30 pm, I was cleaning dishes in my kitchen when I saw a stranger walking into my back yard. This is a very small company, and they do impeccable work. While they were examining one of our trees, they noticed something dangerous about the way CL&P had wires near our house and CL&P came out immediately and worked through the night to correct that dangerous situation. So that alone was incredibly valuable. The way they took down two huge trees near our house was careful, very safety conscious, and on top of that, the price was much better than the other two offers we got. Highly recommend.
