We can remove any tree - from a single tree you are uncomfortable cutting down yourself, to unsafe trees that are located in tight spaces adjacent to valuable property. We are equipped and capable of climbing and rigging down sections one at a time in a safe and effective manner for larger trees in an urban environment.
We can help you prune and maintain your trees. Pruning is the cutting or removing of branches or sections of trees to improve their shape or growth. Pruning is typically done as a preventative or corrective measure to remove dead or broken branches, which can decay and weaken the tree. Pruning also serves to remove crowded or rubbing limbs, to eliminate hazards, and to increase light and air penetration necessary to the health of the tree.
We specialize in dealing with hazardous trees and can provide emergency storm response-bringing the right equipment to safely get the job done and protect your property from further damage. These jobs typically present the most dangerous situations when there are unforeseeable and unstable loads in the fallen trees and limbs, as well as other complicating factors.
We will grind your stumps in conjunction with a tree removal or as a stand-alone job. We typically grind the stump to roughly six inches below grade and can either leave a mound of the grindings (which make great mulch) or remove as much as necessary to help you achieve your goals for the space. As a more affordable option, we can also grind the stump to just below the surface of your lawn so you can mow over the area.

I can not say enough great things about Charlottesville Tree Service and their expert service. The owners work the jobs with their crew and are completely vested in their job execution and customer experience, it really shows. We had a very challenging removal project, a tall tree (about 100 feet) covered in dead vines from top to bottom (long story) that had become very dangerous. It was located at the 4 adjoining property corners with structures nearby in each direction. This job took an enormous amount of strategy and skill and once I met with Tripp I knew he and his crew were up for the task

Charlottesville Tree Service provided the best customer service I've had from any firm, in any industry, in a very long time. Tripp did a great job with the consultation for tree removal and provided an array of options. Martin and his crew are true professionals and it was amazing to watch them work. The 60-70 yr old red oak in question was expertly and efficiently removed using a crane. The crew left the property in great condition and meticulously removed all debris. Really can't recommend these folks enough.

I could not recommend Charlottesville Tree Service more. We needed to remove a few trees in a very tight timeframe. Within 7 days of requesting a quote, and after receiving a competitive quote, they were working on site. The were incredibly skilled, working in a tight space in downtown Charlottesville, communicative, generous with their time answering my many questions as they worked, professional, safe, meticulous in their execution and clean up, and went above and beyond skillfully taking down a tree that had a steel fence post in the middle of it. My husband is a horticulturist who ran a tree farm for 27 years. No one is more particular than him about tree services. When we needed a large red maple at the corner of our deck removed, he got quotes from several services before deciding on Charlottesville Tree. I chose this company partly because of the time and attention given when they first visited to assess my trees. The day of the actual work, they arrived on time and took exactly as long as estimated — with frequent check-ins to let me know what they were noticing about the state of one of my trees and to ask if I were pleased. Finally, when one piece of equipment unexpectedly damaged my yard and some underlying drainpipes, they came back the next morning to fix everything. I couldn't have been more pleased. In the past, I've had to beg to have yard-damage corrected from a tree company. This team

I had a tree on my property with root lift after a bad storm. I was afraid it would fall and hurt someone or damage my driveway. I contacted a few different companies and Charlottesville Tree Service was the only one that responded quickly. Tripp came out and gave me an estimate and we scheduled the work. Before they arrived to do the work I noticed another tree leaning with root lift. When they got there I asked if it would be possible for them to take that one down too. Their price was very fair and the whole experience was great from start to finish. Tripp, Martin, and their crew were professional, on time, worked hard, and cleaned up when they were finished.
