Baja California, locale of blue green seas, rock formations, blue skies and sandy beaches. It's an ideal place for a second home, which is exactly what sparked a new collaboration between long-standing clients and Hyde Evans Design for a spa-inspired getaway. A spa feel was one goal for the Seattle, Washington-area couple, they also wanted splashes of color and a visible connection to Mexico.
Victoria, the cat, loves to seek shelter under the new root coffee table in her owner's Living Room. But when she emerges one can see how the black and white feline fits seamlessly into the space recently designed by Seattle's Hyde Evans Design. From the black fireplace that extends from floor to ceiling to the black & white stripe shag rug, Victoria reflects the setting of the space.
The striking Ulu Table by Jiun Ho greets you when you arrive at this modern Northwest home on Mercer Island. Just as a centering table should, it invites you to pause and take in the surroundings. Mother Nature and the Clients' landscapers take all the credit for the outdoor environment. For the interior, Hyde Evans Design.
It was time for this kitchen on Seattle's Eastside to shake off the 1980's. So, the interior designers at Hyde Evans Design worked together to bring about a whole new look. They turned a wall of less-functional cabinetry into beautiful and highly functioning storage. They updated the dim lighting to create perfect task and decorative lighting.
Hyde Evans Design worked with Gelotte Hommas Architects to create this Normandy style guest and pool house in Medina, on Seattle's Eastside. The color scheme in the furnishings throughout, were neutrals with bright pops of the client's favorite colors. Many of the fabrics on the lower level were indoor/outdoor due to the close proximity of the pool.

We did not feel comfortable giving feedback on the project based on Barbra’s responses. Also, we felt mislead on project costs and they would not budge an inch on what we felt we were being overcharged for. This is the first vendor review I have ever left. It was just so upsetting. All other vendors on our 19 room remodel were five star and a joy to work with.

I employed Hyde Evans Design a few years ago to do a complete remodel and furnishing of a vacation condo and I couldn't have been happier with the outcome and the experience of dealing with Barbara and her professional team. I was kept continually informed of project status and always provided with various cost options around their design recommendations. They also provided many innovative design solutions that dramatically improved the livability and functionality of my space. I will definitely employ them again for my future projects.

Barbara and all at HED were a pleasure to work with on our new home project. Their professionalism and thoughtfulness were evident in all our encounters. Barbara's talent for design was never more evident than when she explained why something "worked" or didn't. With her guidance, we designed a home that will be unique and timeless at the same time.

I just want to give a big shout out to Barbara and Hyde Evans Design! They were awesome to work with, very professional, timely and all with a good dose of humor when I got a bit anxious! They were very communicative every step of the process, including weekly email updates on the progress of my project. Barbara's sense of design is impeccable, I'm thrilled with the end result and will recommend Hyde Evans Design to anyone looking for a top notch interior designer in the greater Seattle area!

My wife and I have retained Barbara and her staff on several projects over the years, including a master bath remodel and a living room remodel on a different house. This is a talented design firm and I trust Barbara's eye. You can find cheaper people, but our experience is that her clear vision was worth the expense. You get what you pay for.

Our family (w/ two young children) has used Hyde Evans Design for our main home and a vacation home in the San Juan islands. Barbara and her team did an outstanding job for us on both homes. Our homes are completely different styles with one being a craftsman and the other a Northwest contemporary; they both turned out beautiful as Barbara’s designs “fit” the style of each home. Barbara listened to our goals and likes/dislikes and then came up with great ideas that were kid friendly and met our budget. She also presented numerous different options for us to choose from and was not afraid

I recently remodeled the entire main floor of my view home on the Magnolia Bluff. I didn't engage Hyde Evans design until the end of the project, when I had numerous loose ends to tie up. Exhausted by the remodel and all of the choices, I started to give up. I had limited lighting, furniture, mirrors, and the list goes on. My house was livable, but not functional. Barbara came in and took control of the project knowing I was on a budget. She is organized and really pays attention to my style. She doesn't overwhelm me with options and continues to drive decisions forward. Her taste is impeccable
