Balcones Architects

We collaborated with Riverstone Designs on the Gruene United Methodist Church in Gruene, TX. The church features natural materials such as stone and timber creating a peaceful and naturally lit worship and gathering environment for its parishioners. Environmentally friendly building materials such as low-E glass shaded with deep overhangs and cork flooring were carefully selected where ever possible.

The Oak Professional Center is located in San Marcos, TX and houses three tenants. Walkways and trees shade the large windows and natural materials were purposefully selected to allow the building to blend in with its surroundings. This unique project incorporates a gift shop, coffee shop, and design studio.

We assisted the tenants, Gordon and Darcy Colson (architect and interior designer husband/wife team) with the construction documents on this project. They operate all three businesses at these quaint and inviting shops located in Gruene, TX. The Stone and Stepping Stones are open daily serving up smoothies, coffee, light snacks, beer and wine along side unique gifts and home furnishings.
