Here at John Serven and Son Construction we provide a variety of construction services from home additions, remodeling kitchens and bathrooms, to custom carpentry. We only use the highest quality of products, and we employ the most experienced and skilled tradesmen around. Our services extend through the Boston MA area, as well as the North Shore.

Was told the job would take 3-4 weeks. Had every excuse in the book, gave me at least three other deadlines. 5 months later I gave them one more deadline which they failed to meet (gave him another three weeks). Brutal lying throughout the process. He also told me he couldn't afford materials to finish the job after I had already paid 75% of the cost. Asking him now to pay for the materials but he won't respond. Had angry ex clients of his come to my house on the weekend to warn me that the owner was a con artist (their words) but it was too late for us to do anything about it

Again, please do your research before hiring John Serven Construction. Before you give a stranger thousands of dollars and the power to destroy your home or business, take an hour or two to check the Clerk(s) of Court in Lynn, Salem, Lawrence or Newburyport. You owe it to your family and yourself to do your due diligence.
Also, please look at the additional reviews, which are not recommended (hidden) by Yelp, because of their complex criteria. There are both good and bad reviews there.
I have no doubt that some people have had a good experience with this company, as the owner is fully capable

This guy is a professional scam artist. Do not hire him. He's changed locations and names so many times in order to avoid legal troubles. He ruined my house during a cold winter project, letting pipes freeze because he never showed up for the project when he said he would. He's very good at collecting money for jobs he never completes. Look him up online. You'll find dozens of complaints and litigation. He's a liar and a crook. DO NOT HIRE HIM!!

I've hired John Serven Construction from Lynn on several occasions. John and his crew have worked both in my home and at my office. At my Brookline home they built two rooms, added a ceiling, and put in a floor. At my Newton office he has remodeled closet supply space, added shelving and tore down a wall. Each time I have been very pleased with the quality of the work and a fair price. What I have been most impressed with was the crew's cleanup effort afterwards. They were courteous enough to remove all unwanted and used materials, swept and cleaned and kept the dust out of our living
