Clean, modern, urban living in the heart of San Francisco's SOMA neighborhood, this building is home to three condominiums. Bordering on the Marin headlands and overlooking San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pacific Ocean, a modern interpretation of a traditional yurt is soon to be hidden into the ridge.
Glass, steel and living roof, along with underground parking, will allow a full integration into the natural beauty of the site. By modernizing the space, flow, and detailing of this 1960's home, while also enhancing the textural values of the original design, we were able to breathe new life back into this beautifully sited Mid-Century modern home.
The addition of color, complex spaces, and compound shapes brings a new modern relevance to the original simplicity of the Mid-Century design. A tightly confined attic master suite was opened up with glass, skylights and sun. The master suite remodel to this Sausalito Victorian included adding a continuous ridge skylight and opening up the space to the sky and the extraordinary San Francisco Bay views.

The kitchen location in this Sausalito home was originally walled off from the fabulous bay views and the living spaces. The owners loved to cook while entertaining friends and family, so we removed the interior walls and opened up the exterior walls to access the expansive views of the bay and new deck.
Scott Couture was our architect on our project in Sausalito, CA, remodeling a 50 year old house. 1500 square foot remodel of main level with kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom and study. Took a 3-story high end redwood country house from 1980 and did a sophisticated, ultra-modern remodel. Scott pushed creativity far beyond what I had originally imagined.
