I (John) was born and raised in NY and I'm an avid Yankees, Knicks, Rangers and Giants fan. Loves to spend time with my wife of 19 years and Lola our Weimaraner puppy and love to do volunteer work. I have been in the wood floor industry since 1998 when I started to work for my father in law at J&J Wood Flooring.
In 2003 I started my own business with my wife, Servie Evonne. Each refinishing project is carefully planned out and executed with precise accuracy. No hardwood refinishing project is too small or too large. We can refinish in one room or your entire home. We also do commercial hardwood refinishing. We provide the ideal solutions for your hardwood floor requirements.
We also specialize in the installation of all and any type of prefinished or raw (site finished) hardwood floors. All domestic or imported hardwood from todays best mills are available to us. Various types of hardwood floor installation include parquet, herringbone, chevron, borders, inlays and simple plank tongue and groove hardwood floors.
I often get asked the same few questions over and over again regarding refinishing hardwood floors. I thought it may be beneficial to share the questions and offer a brief answer to each. A. Although I will be in your home for a week on average, that doesn't mean that you must be out of your home for that entire time.

We purchased our first home and wanted to refinish our floors. We went with a friend of a friend and learned a very important lesson, “ask for work samples” before agreeing to work being done. These guys stained our floors with a color we picked out but did it absolutely WRONG. It took everything in me to hold back my tears. Travis was frustrated and felt personally responsible. We found @jswoodfloors through a quick internet search and emailed immediately after seeing their work. Travis and I were ready to live with our disaster floors for the time being, but then we got a call from John.

These are undoubtedly the guys you want working on your home. John and his team couldn’t have been more polite, professional, and passionate about their work. We weren’t sure whether to go with a lighter or darker wood floor, after viewing their instagram page (@jswoodfloors), we went with Special Walnut and a Satin finish - which they had done previously on a house in Scarsdale. It came out just as perfect, thanks guys! Highly recommended. (Note that pics might be before the satin finish, I’ll update shortly)

We bought a fixer upper that needs renovation in almost every single inch. We hired John to refinish our hardwood floors on approx. 1300 sq feet + the stairs. He delivered perfectly! He literally gave new life to our home, the 120 years old oak floors and stairs got their rebirth! We cannot be happier. John made us excited to move in even if the rest of the house is still a fixer upper :-) John and his worker were very respectful, quick, we had great communication and they even worked on the house during the weekend to finish on time. Definitely recommend this company!

Just had my 2nd refinishing job done by J&S. The took my old beat up grungy looking oak floors and turned them back to beautiful. They came when they said they would come, did a great job and cleaned up after and all with a very afordable price. I would highly recommend them to everybody that needs floors refinished.
