Please take your time and review the layout of the panels because the supposed experts from solar optimum installed a panel behind a vent even though there are plenty of space on the roof. I tried to reached out to see if they can move it but no response from the company. Don't make the same mistake I did trusting that solar Optimum and their design expert.

My neighbor got solar from SO and had a great experience. He did a lot of research and found that they were highly rated. We went with them and everything seemed to go pretty smoothly with a few exceptions.
1. The quoted price was $3k higher than the initial quote due to regulations for where certain boxes needed to be and the labor/materials for wiring that. I attempted to disagree and refute those charges, but was unable to win that fight. Our neighbor had the same thing happen to him.
2. Once installed, the system appeared to initially work when they tested it, but the enlighten envoy

Rene from Solar Optimum arrived to provision and power up our new Enphase Encharge battery system. Rene called in advance to confirm our time, kept me posted during his travel and showed up when expected. Not always the norm for the trades. He was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about the start up process. I received clear instructions on how to monitor the system using the app and make adjustments as fit our needs. Highly recommend. All around good guy - and happy with our system purchase as well.

Stay away from these guys... They gave me a quote, made me to sign contract, got the financing done, sent their technician to go on top of my roof for site survey and assess my property; he broke a number of my roof tiles during the process. Then a month later they called and said the salesman that was working with me has left the company. BTW, the sales guy that provided me the initial quote, (a few months back), was also departed from the company. They got super high turnover among their sales reps. I requested a quote. They game me one then they added 9000 in roofing then more for this and that. It came up to 20k more than the quote. They have bought their number one reputable. Do not deserve even a star. All that without telling me and presenting me with a bill. 3 months later someone when to check on my roof they had not done any roofing. The 9000 was a scam. I had an extra 6000 in roofing dome 8 panel that don't cover my electric bill cost me 35k. I might have to sell my house.

We chose Solar Optimum based on their generally excellent reviews. While the process began well enough (Sean Sprague was our initial contact), it soon became complicated by the lack of a single Point Of Contact. We had to deal with different representatives regarding design, permits, payments, installation, roof repairs, etc. Most frustrating was that while our agreed-upon design plan specified an 'attic run' of conduit, the installers surprisingly installed the wiring on top of our newly installed roof saying that this was "industry standard." Must go to company for your solar needs. This review is long overdue. Have had my solar from Solar Optimum for over a year now and it has been working excellently. The company is dependent, honest, reliable and really cares to tailor to their clients needs. Did not try to sell me more panels or equipment than needed and responded to support with help on how to use the Tesl Powerwall app. Just the other day my Tesla fell off the grid on the app and they came same day to check on it. Turns out a fuse went out and needed to be replaced. Was diagnosed in a matter of minutes and all covered under the

Solar Optimum was very thorough in giving us our quote and was even able to fix our roof before installing the solar panels, which not all solar companies do. The installation happened quickly once the paperwork and permits were done (which they handled). Very happy with the process - highly recommend.

Solar Optimum did a very nice job all around with my solar installation, from product selection and pricing, to scheduling and installation. I was always able to get in touch with the right person in charge of whatever I needed to have a response for and they were prompt with their responses. I didn't like all the terms of their contract and requested a few changes - twice - the first time I contacted them in 2020 and then again in the summer of 2021 and they did not make my requested changes saying I would be satisfied with the results in the end. Thank you to the team at Solar Optimum. They definitely deserve a 5-star for my recent solar and battery installation on my home. After researching and talking to 4 solar companies, I narrowed my choice down to Solar Optimum, not just because they had the most competitive pricing but also because they had the best value and warranty. I was torn between Panasonic and LG panels but ultimately went with Optimum because of the 25 year warranty that Panasonic offered. I paired it with the new Enphase 10k storage (Tesla's Powerwall has been back ordered for almost a year) and glad I chose it.

Solar Optimum responded to my initial review with false information on 8/20/2021. Below I provide its statements with quotations followed by my comments to set the record straight:
"On March 18th, the homeowner called to report he had a leak in his roof. The next day our Construction Manager responded and arranged a time to meet at the homeowner's house. After his initial inspection, it was determined the leaks were NOT caused by our penetrations." - THIS IS FALSE -The construction manager acknowledged he was NOT a licensed roofer and was not qualified to determine the cause

I am very pleased with the service I received from this company. They were not pushy, always prompt and polite, and when you call them on the phone, a person picks up and is helpful.
I did my due diligence in looking for solar panels-- I had a whole spreadsheet with the cost per unit energy output, panel type, degradation rate, warranty, etc etc, and concluded that this company seemed to be best... most reasonable cost, quality panels, great warranty. And they've been around for awhile so I trust that when they offer a 25y workmanship warranty, they might actually be around to fulfill it,

It's now been several months and I couldn't be happier. I spent months considering if solar was for me. I really like the environmental aspect but I needed to be sure that it also made sense for me and my family financially. Looking to retire in a few years I wanted to ensure that I could reasonably get the system paid off before retirement in order to reap the benefits of not having an electric bill every month. I don't give out 5 stars easily. Solar Optimum exceeded my expectations in every way.
I have 19 top of the line Panasonic panels with micro inverters and two Tesla Powerwalls.
1. The initial consultation was a pleasure. No up-selling at all. It was a lot of listening from them about my needs, and a thoughtful examination of cost/benefits. No ick factor at all during the sales process.
2. They navigated the permitting process with Culver City (not an easy thing!) so that I did not have to deal with it at all.
3. They navigated the state and federal rebates and tax issues. Excellent

My concern is the monitoring service kind of confusing and inaccurate, something is wrong. I was very optimistically hopping that my DWP bill
will drop significantly, unfortunately currently my bill is higher then before. I discussed my concern with customer service, still hoping to fine some solution....
