In 1997, Gado Gado opened it's first brick and mortar store in the city of Atlanta, to share our love and passion for the beautiful array of unique, artisan crafted Furniture, Art, Artifacts and Home Accents from Indonesia.
All of our pieces at Gado Gado are individually hand crafted by skilled Indonesian artisans. Since each item is handmade and hand finished, slight variations occur from piece to piece. This makes all of our products truly unique! Our products are crafted from solid wood and due to changes in temperature, some cracking or splitting may naturally occur and will only add character to your piece.

If you're looking for unique pieces of solid wood furniture, then you really need to take a look at their inventory. We went in looking for an entryway bench, but couldn't find one that fit our space. However we *did* find the perfect little bench for the foot of our bed! The quality is great and the people are just lovely. Highly recommend.

If you are looking for handmade, authentic, beautiful Indonesian furniture, please do yourself a favor and stop by Gado Gado. I recently purchased one of their teak coffee tables and couldn't be more happy with it. Even if you're out of state and don't get a chance to walk through their gallery, you should buy with confidence. Their online descriptions and pictures are spot on. I wish I had more time while I was there, but it's all the more reason to come back :)

During a recent trip to Atlanta, I was delighted to walk in this store with a childhood friend from Djakarta, meet Jill and Setiawan, and remember Indonesia through their beautiful furniture and art. I bought only a small trinket but vowed to shop more thoroughly at a later date. A few months later, and several gorgeous pieces of furniture were just delivered to my DC home. I found this store through a search online. I have purchased both online (I live in FL) and at the store in Atlanta. My experience has been extremely positive!! The owners lovingly select the items in their store, and it shows. Gorgeous items that I have not been able to find elsewhere! They also ship items with great care. I was hesitant at first to order from out of state but they make it easy. And they are just nice people to do business with as a bonus.

I recently received my Indonesian daybed from Gado Gado and I am more than pleased with not only their service but also the product. Having ordered the piece online, I was skeptical about the quality and condition of the piece and had a lot of questions which Jill addressed patiently. The daybed is heavy duty reclaimed Teak wood and the cushion and cushion cover both are of great quality and ready to use. Can’t wait to visit the store in person!

This place is amazing! If you want unique and quality furniture with that "traveler vibe," Gado Gado has exactly what you are looking for. I went in yesterday looking for a weeping yogi, and had a chance to meet the owner. They are super friendly and helpful, without being at all overbearing. He allowed me to browse the store without hovering, and still answered all of the questions I had. This is how small businesses should be. Love, respect, and quality service is all present here, and it is almost palpable. Plus, they have BEAUTIFUL furniture!!!

I love this store! It's a zen experience just walking through there. Through the years, I've bought numerous items from Gado Gado, including mid-size to large furniture and smaller decorative pieces. I treasure them. There is no other store like this in Atlanta (or likely most places). Do yourself and visit in person. The owners provide terrific customer service and can give you a lot of cultural background on what you're buying.

I cannot tell you how many compliments I get on everything that we purchase from this little gem of a shop! I love that almost all of the pieces that they sell are re-purposed teak furniture. They are all solid wood pieces and will last a lifetime (I will be including the pieces in my will). Slowly we have been replacing all the so-so pieces that we mistakenly purchased throughout the years. No more assembling pieces of furniture for us! Even though the pieces are Asian inspired - they fit perfectly in my eclectic home furnishings.

Gado Gado is full of unique items-- everything from little gifts to big 'statement' pieces for your home. It's full of really cool stuff you don't see everywhere else. Even if you only buy one piece it can change the whole look of a cookie-cutter living room or bedroom. People always ask where we got the incredible primitive bench in our living room-- they never ask about the Pottery Barn chair!

I discovered Gado Gado via the Internet, while searching for a bookcase from Indonesia made from repurposed teak to go with a table I had. The photos online were great and they appeared to have exactly what I wanted. The website was charming and intriguing enough that I actually drove 7 hours roundtrip from Asheville, North Carolina to check out the store.
Was it worth it? Absolutely! The piece of furniture is great, absolutely perfect for my needs. And the store was so delightful I ended up bringing

This is a multi-cultural furniture store. It's a small furniture store loaded up with heavy furniture with lots of carvings on it. Gado Gado also has a small sculptures and wall art. All of the furniture and art seems Asian styled, but it's very hand made looking.
The store is located in the Amsterdam walk area, next to Intaglia, another furniture store. It has plenty of parking and is in the Virginia Highlands area.
