Better packaging could help. I purchased aluminum retainers STR-245W for two 7x8 doors. The retainers came scratched since they were rubbing against each other during transportation. 50c on paper wrap could prevent that completely. It was $300 just for the retainers. The paint also had some defects (specs and runs). The on-call people were helpful but processing of the order took more than two weeks because it turned out that the part is not in stock and then the manufacturer shipped wrong product.

My single torsion spring broke on my garage door. While looking for a replacement I decided to change to a double spring setup. The DDM website has an easy to use conversation calculator to make those changes. Once I found the proper springs it was easy to place my order. I sent an email with some questions about the install. The associate responded quickly with some helpful information. I would for sure recommend using DDM for their useful website tools, parts and customer service.

Ordered springs and a few parts for my door Thursday Aug 26th since I was not able to get the parts I needed locally quick enough, everything was received by Tues. Aug. 31st and I was able to get my loading dock door working again. Parts we're good quality and exactly what I ordered. I am not local to this business so I greatly appreciate the prompt order fulfillment. Will return for more parts in the future.

Wow!! For those that have lost faith in customer service I urge you to give DDM a try. I was so impressed with the level of care they provide that I will always come back to DDM! My garage door was really heavy and the opener wouldn't work. I called DDM and spoke with Chad who made sure I was getting the right springs for my job. Not only was Chad amazing but when I went on Google to watch a "How To" video I found a DDM video that was amazing!!

Dan (owner) helped me out in a bind. He was not open on a Saturday, but he agreed to meet me at his store. I'm so glad I called him as the springs that came off my door were mismatched in length. From those springs, a picture of the door, and his sheer experience and knowledge, he recalculated what would a good matching set for me. He further spent time ensuring I understood where to stand when winding the springs and the potentially deadly consequences of being in a different position. I really enjoyed meeting him and greatly appreciate his help. Needless to say, he sells a quality product

Ordered a pair of 2" ID springs on a Sunday. DDM called first thing Monday morning to let me know they would be on backorder and offered to convert to a different compatible size. Received my order on the following Tuesday and had the new springs on the same night. 23 year old garage door works better than ever. So happy I chose DDM.

I had a broken torsion spring on my garage door and needed replacement parts. I was not too sure of the parts that I needed but the very informative videos by Dan Musick were incredibly helpful in determining what to order.

I was surprised to find that during the ordering process I could select stronger parts that would last longer (which I did). I would highly recommend purchasing online and waiting to have the parts shipped because if you follow the videos, you will likely order the exact parts that you need.

The pictures of the replacement bearings were helpful in determining why brand/model

I absolutely had to post a review for DDM. Their website has detailed tutorials for the DIY client. The site also walks you through exactly how to determine which spring you need. I ordered my replacement and after payment brings you back to their page. I noticed they were not far from me so i called up and asked if i could just pick it up. The woman on the phone was friendly and helpful. I arrived later that night and the staff inside was just as friendly. They gave me a few tips and sent me on my way. By the time i arrived at home a refund had already been sent to me for the shipping. DDM nailed

I agree with the other 5-star reviews. My garage door was installed with unequal length torsion springs. Being an engineer, I remember looking up a the springs thinking at the time that this was a little odd, since the door was balanced, the guy wires and pulley sizes were balanced, and the opener was in the middle. 6 months later the short spring broke. There is a mechanical reason why the shorter spring will break. Anyway, DDM's unequal length calculator worked perfectly. I relocated the bracket to the middle, ran the calculator and ordered the springs. They arrived in 2 days. UPS

I can't say enough good things about DDM! I discovered them while I was obsessively researching how to replace torsion springs. I'm not even the slightest bit handy. I'm the exact type of guy who should not be trying to replace a torsion spring. I'm starting to realize that the only way to stop being the exact type of guy who should not be trying to replace a torsion spring is to force myself to learn how to do these types of things.

This place is GOOD, I ordered torsion springs for my garage door because one broke, When you order you have to give them all the pertinent info about your garage door. They called me because something didn't make sense and am I glad they did. I redid the info and I had the weight of the door wrong and the inside diamiter of the springs wrong. Thanks to Andrew I received the correct springs the 1st time. The directions they give on the website made it easy for me to replace them myself. THANK YOU !!!!
