Gorsegner Brothers Hardwood Floors was founded in 1951 by John Gorsegner, Sr. and was called at that point simply, "John Gorsegner Hardwood Floors." The company was started with a simple aim: to provide quality hardwood flooring at decent prices and help people maintain the look of their floors for years to come.
In 1951 in Monmouth County, NJ John Gorsegner, Sr. founded what is today known as Gorsegner Brothers Hardwood Floors. At the time, "John Gorsegner Hardwood Floors" aspired to provide quality hardwood flooring at decent prices with the goal of helping people maintain the look of their floors for years to come.
Starting in 1951 Gorsegner Brothers Hardwood Floors has proved to be the leading floor sanders and installers in the greater Monmouth County area. Today, Gorsegner Brothers Hardwood Floors, which remains a family-run business, has spread its roots throughout New Jersey providing quality floor service to thousands, including customers in Ocean County NJ.
These guys are really, really good. While preparing my mother's house for sale following her passing, the hardware floors that are a part of the original construction had been covered by carpeting for decades so this was essentially a restoration and I am very pleased with the results which are reinforced by compliments from visitors.

I am actually writing this review on behalf of my husband Dan and his company Gorsegner Brothers Hardwood Floors. While no business, business owner or the people representing that business are perfect and certainly can be at fault just like any other human, Dan always does his best to look at all sides of a situation and is always able to apologize or rectify a situation with a job when an occasional issue comes up.

This company did a large project for me about 12 years ago and their work was flawless and customer service was great. I had them back in this year to do another large project and the quality of work and customer service has fallen off considerably. I figure some of that could be the result of the covid crisis and difficulty in completing jobs in this environment, but not all of it. We recently used Gorsegner Brothers to re-finish the hardwood floors on the main level and upstairs in a new house we purchased in Monmouth County. While the process started off well enough, with Brittany in the office being helpful in organizing a digital estimate due to challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the rest of the process and end product fell short of our expectations. If there was a way to give negative 6 stars I would do so. Horrible customer experience. Was given a price which wasn't honored when I went to order the floor and gentlemen on the phone was indignant and condescending. It is unfortunate because they have good products, but horrible company. My advice: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

Do not use them. Was told it was a 2 day job (they were coming on a Friday and Saturday). That Wednesday they called to say someone was coming Thursday because now it was a 3 day job with the first day needing only to do the transitions. Guy came and had no idea what he was doing. Couldn’t even complete the job. Called the company, they explained it was probably the grandson of the company and he doesn’t really know what he’s doing 🤔 Friday had a 4 hour window of when they were coming. They showed up 2 hours before that window. Saturday gave another 4 hour window and showed up 2 hours

This is a great company to work with. I have used them several times over the years to both install new floors and refinish old ones.
