SunShare Community Solar is a ground-breaking solar company that gives you an easy, affordable way to enjoy clean, renewable energy. Instead of putting panels on your roof, we build large solar projects called community solar gardens with thousands of panels.
You subscribe to a portion of the energy produced in the community solar garden along with many other residents who share your commitment to renewable energy, replacing the need to invest in solar panels for home use.Your utility continues delivering your energy, and you become part of the solar community, receiving solar credits on your electricity bill.
It's that easy. Energy generated by the solar garden supplements the power supply with clean, renewable solar energy. You continue to receive and use energy the way you always have. SunShare sends you a monthly bill for the amount of solar energy your subscription produces, and your utility reimburses you for the amount of energy your subscription contributes to the grid.

So far, we are saving a little money each month as we start up our solar garden subscription. But the best part, far and away, is being less dependent on fossils fuels to generate the electricity we use. I am quite happy to be participating in the SunShare's Community Solar Program here in Minneapolis.

I wanted to participate in green energy but the location and type of our house makes solar panels impossible. SunShare answered my need. The transition was seamless and they made all the arrangements with Xcel so I still only receive one energy bill. It could not be more convenient.
The sales pitch at the time involved some discussion of small cost savings over time but the real insensitive is that you can feel good about doing something to help save our planet.

It's hard to live green in an apartment. I was feeling guilty all the time about not doing my part for the planet. When I heard that I could use solar power without panels, I was so happy. Then I signed up and SunShare was awesome. They are so knowledgeable and helpful, I didn't look back for a second.
It's a no-brainer.

I signed up for Sunshare without really doing my homework first. A couple months later, I was able to cancel before it actually began. I did so because I finally got the time to talk to the people at Sunshare. First off, the fellow I talked to said that more most of the time that you are saving money on your electric bill, its only going to be about 5%. He said that amount was "pretty common". Another actual user of Sunshare told me the same thing. So get this: When you sign up, you have to sign a contract for 25 YEARS. I asked the Sunshare employee, "Well where does this $500 savings

I've had SunShare since their first solar garden opened. It seems to work as advertised-- I get a credit on my utility bill every month. But they almost never give out any information about how much power was generated in a month, either in total or per panel. So, it's pretty much impossible to get a good picture of how it's all working. It's like a black box, you sign up and you get utility bill credits, but you almost never know what's actually going on.
