TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin/Polyolefin) Thermoplastic, PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) roof membranes, commonly referred to as single-ply membranes, are flexible sheet materials that are used in one-ply or one-layer configurations. Constructed from ethylene propylene rubber, the thermoplastic roof membrane's chemical and physical characteristics allow it to repeatedly soften when heated and harden when cooled.
Built-Up Roofs (BUR) Built up roofing systems, referred to by the acronym BUR are one of the oldest and most durable systems available due in large part to the success and proven reliability of BUR. The stock of 20, 30 and 40-year-old BUR roofs still in excellent condition attests to this fact. These roof systems are commonly referred to as "tar and gravel" roofs.

Went with Tom Tanenbaum Roofing company because of some positive recommendations on the Next Door app. Most were about how attentive the office staff was. I would absolutely agree with that but the important stuff- the actual quality of work performed on the roof was on an unskilled amateur level. Broken rafter tails, cracked ceiling and using massive amounts of caulking to fix wood that should have been replaced are examples of his quality of work. Not too happy with the experience. They came to look at the roof because of a leak. When they were done, they just left. Didn't let us know what was going on with the roof or even thoughts on how serious the leak is. So called them and said they would give us an estimate and details next week. Did not hear anything so called again and said our estimator was on vacation and we wouldn't hear anything until next year. Wish I would have known it would take that much time as I would have tried to get additional estimates. With the holidays next week, its hard to even get someone to come look at it.

Let's face it, the roofing business is full of fly by nighter's and crews that are hired out front of your local big box store. THIS company is NOT one of those. I have used them myself and recommended them to numerous people; all whom have been satisfied with their top flight service, skills and materials. Tyler, George, Tom and crew are experienced roofers and they know their stuff. I wouldn't even consider using anyone else for my roofing needs.
