Services
We travel the globe to seek out the most distinctive, remarkable and extraordinary furnishings for our clients. We attend auctions and estate sales in the United States, antique and vintage shows in Italy, France and Belgium; our custom designed pieces are proudly made by local artisans and crafts people in India, Turkey, South America, and the United States.
From table lamps to chandeliers and everything in between, we are known for our great collection of professionally restored vintage, antique and new lighting pieces. Beautiful Murano glass, hand cut crystal, wood, metal, lucite and other elements make up a vast majority of our collection. Our custom made shades finish off each piece with great elan.
We pride ourselves in carrying great quality materials for our ever changing collection of pillows and decor items. Alamwar pillows and bedding are created by local artisans in India, using old world techniques which are also eco-friendly. Great designs by international artists make up a majority of our hand made and custom pillow and bedding collections.
From Calder to Picasso, to numerous local, regional, national and international artists and great sculptors, we offer quite the variety of impressive art and sculptures ranging from the classics to mid century modern to contemporary art. Our collection is constantly changing with each season and we often host many events featuring up and coming talent.
We carry vintage and new accessories with origins from all over the world, with brands like Ralph Lauren, Blenko, Murano glass, Christofle, Baccarat, St. Louis, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Alamwar, Versace, Lalique, Bohemian crystal, Limoges, and countless others. We have a never ending supply of fascinating accessories that will appeal to the most discerning eye.

HOUSE OF KAKAR , WHERE CAN I BEGIN ?? FIRST ALL , FROM THE MOMENT YOU COME IN YOU FEEL IN A WONDERLAND PLACE FROM EITHER THE FAR EAST or INDIA or EUROPE ALL IN AN ARRAY OF GREAT DISPLAYS FROM VINTAGE TO UPSCALE ANTIQUES TO MODERN, COLORFUL AND UNIQUE ITEMS.
MY 1st PURCHASE WAS A SET OF BAVARIAN DINNER PLATES.. THERE WERE ONLY 4 OF THEM , GORGEOUS & I TOOK THEM HOME.
SINCE I KEPT GETTING COMPLIMENTS ABOUT MY UNSUAL, BUT VERY BEAUTIFUL PLATES EVERY TIME I DISPLAYED THEM , I HAD TO HAVE MORE, HE QUESTION WAS , IS IT POSSIBLE ??? SO I WENT BACK TO KAKAR HOUSE OF DESIGN AND OF COURSE THIS TIME MR

We have been honored that he has included our wallcovering designs in many of his interior design projects. A major relocation from New York to Miami 8 years ago brought me to Kakar House of Design in search of furniture with personality: more objet d’art, less ordinary. And what began with a simple purchase from this eclectic, fantastical showroom, led to a relationship with Anil Kakar who listened, understood our wants and needs, and turned our white box condo into a colorful and interesting space that is equal parts mediation, inspiration, and celebration.

Drop everything and go to Kakar House of Design! This is an amazing place that is better than any Miami museum! One never knows what they will find. Everything is set up in proper groupings and you will want everything! Anil's taste is exceptional and he is very helpful. I defy anyone to find a place like this in Miami! I would give it 10 stars, if offered.

Beautiful antique furniture store with a stunning interior design team. The owner, Anil Kakar, is so thoughtful and generous. He donated his extra fabrics to my tailoring business for us to make fancy masks during the COVID19 outbreak. His designer luxury fabric turned into fashionable mask for creative clients in the community. Since it looks like we will have to be wearing masks for quite a while, it's nice to have unique designer fabric to make each person feel special.

I can lose hours and hours exploring Kakar House of Design’s store, it’s an amazing place, you never know what you’re gonna find! Friendly and knowledgable staff. I recently picked up some vintage shot glasses, hand blown, 1960’s American I believe, great to pull out at parties & at a great price. If gorgeous, original, vintage and sometimes quirky, is your thing then I can not recommend this store enough!
