Where do I begin to explain how appreciative I am for Bill's assistance in getting three safes open for us. My friend is moving and we couldn't get his safes open no matter how many times we tried. We called several locksmiths early in the week and they all strung us along throughout the week and, finally, just before my friend has to leave on his move, one locksmith agreed to show up but would charge over $1600 to open three safes! Seriously look no further if you want a guy who cares about what he does. Bill provides an amazing quality of service and very communicative. We had a 94 year old mortise lock that had ceased working. Another locksmith told me that it was beyond repair and came up with a horrible looking replacement that would have ruined the look of my 1927 Spanish house. I called Bill on a neighbor's recommendation and it was the best call I ever made. Such a craftsman! He rebuilt the internal springs and got it all working again! Amazing. Truly the best locksmith I have ever had the pleasure of working with!
Not only did Bill change the locks but he provided a level of security that only a man with his experience and knowledge would be able to offer. He is nothing short of a modern day hero, and I am so happy that I called him as he saved me time and money for not having to get extra keys made and explaining what happened with the locks in the first place. And he's happy to help solve the problem so it was a joy to have him in my home!

Bill Walter is the best locksmith in Santa Monica. Over the years, we have called Bill at least 5 times and he ALWAYS gets the job done right, at a very reasonable price. Whether it is adjusting a sticky key, fixing a front door lock, or making sure one single key opens all 3 doors, Bill can get everything done. He will come at a moment's notice if he is available, and he will deliver a friendly, professional service, every time. They don't make them like Bill Walter any more, "they broke the key." We were dealing with a sticky key issue as well as some lock issues. The lock worked but was definitely more difficult than it should be to get into our home!
I found Bill on Yelp and read the great reviews so I called him up. He had an opening the next day so he came by and was in and out within an hour! And all of our lock problems were solved!
Bill was so warm and friendly, yet professional, and loved my dog which I consider a very good sign in a human.
I will definitely be recommending Bill to any friend or family in need of a locksmith!

I hired Bill to come out and key a door that had a vintage lock. Since I have owned the home, this door lock had never had a key, and I was super worried we would have to replace the entire lock, which was beautiful... BUT it was NO problem for Bill. He is kind, professional, fast, and his prices were incredibly reasonable. I have nothing but positive feedback- found him on Yelp, and agree with all the other reviewers!

Bill's invoice says "My goal is to make your locks work so well, you actually notice them; and to do this at a fair and reasonable price." Bill definitely accomplished his goal. My door is so much easier to use now that it's like brand new. To other yelpers I say: do not waste your valuable time trying to fix it yourself or looking for another locksmith. You can count on Bill to get it right the first time and his work is guaranteed.

Never thought I would write a review on a locksmith! I emailed Bill to request an appointment and we started an email chain back and forth to diagnose the problem. He was so helpful in the emails that my decision to hire him was easy. When we did settle on a time for him to come out and fix a doorknob, he was very pleasant and patient. It was such a quick fix (just needed oil) that he only charged me for the service call. It may have been the most expensive bit of oil ever, but I gladly paid because I was so happy with his customer service. I will continue to use Bill for any future locksmith

Wow...this is the guy I'll be hiring for all my locksmith needs. Just talked to Bill on the hpone and he's knowledgeable and friendly. He helped talk me through to figure out what kind of lock I needed and with a quick call to Baldwin on Monday I'll be all set. I called Bill after another company no showed on their appointment to take my lock out of the door and write down the model number for a modification I need made. The fact that Bill helped me over the phone shows what a great guy he is. He seems to actually love what he does...he knows so much about locks, it's crazy

I wouldn't have written a review except that it is rare for someone to stand behind their work these days so I wanted to acknowledge integrity. Bill was referred to me when I told a friend that I needed help opening an antique etagere that I purchased at an estate sale. I called him and he set up a time to come by. He was very courteous and prompt. Bill let me know that old locks that require a skeleton key were not his expertise but he'd give it a shot. He quoted a price for a service call that was very reasonable but said that there would be no charge if he was unable to unlock

Bill is an angel living life as a locksmith. He cares so much and is so helpful and reasonably priced and reliable and has been doing this for a long, long time and knows his locks and keys.
