After returning from Vietnam, company founder Bill Adams worked in the Pittsburgh Public Schools as an elementary school librarian. In the late 1970s, and with a modest $10,000 inheritance, Bill resigned from his job to concentrate on growing the suction cup business. Selling out of the back of a 1976 Chevy Chevette, Bill focused on marketing suction cups that enabled retailers to hang signs in their windows without sticky tape residue.
