Designed and patented in Germany. This tubing is not a laminated plastic film but is an actual permanant coating applied via (PVD) Physical Vapor Deposition. At 98% reflection this ridgid tube cant be beat, when it comes to reflection quality, color rendering and longevity. We will never use low quality flex tubing or laminated tubing.
Now you have the option of a light inside your Sun Glo Tubular Skylight. The 10" unit uses a single bulb while the 14" and 18" use two bulbs. Bulbs used can be flourescent or LED. The light kits are a great option when you would rather have less fixtures on your ceiling. Gives a nice Streamlined look.
The Sun Glo solar tube can be installed virtually on any roof type and slope. Our residential models are available with either a flat roof or a pitched roof flashing. The unique slope of the pitched roof flashing allows for easy installation on all roof pitches without the need for angle adapters. Our models accommodate all roofing material including composite shingles, wood shakes, flat tile and S. tiles.
When choosing a Tubular Daylight System (TDS) you will find a number of different suppliers of systems. These systems fall into two different categories; rigid and flexible. Rigid systems, such as Sun Glo, use hi-tech, highly reflective (in our case Alanod which uses a ridgid 98% reflectiive material to transfer the light).
As you can see not all tubing is created equal. Companies that use tubing layered with films called (MPF) or multi polymeric films can degrade over time when exposed to even minor uv rays. This degradation causes the tubing to turn a golden brown and or delaminate. When this happens the lighting will change inside your home.
