His son, Anthony, who started helping him since he could walk and paid his way through Santa Clara University by working in the field.
His daughter, Lori, who quickly learned the appliance repair trade, how to run a business, and now is a Master's Graduate at San Jose State University doing big things. Gilbert is an excellent communicator. He responds quickly and works with your schedule. He also explains in a very clear way what issues you are looking at and all the costs. He will advise the best way to go, even if it means replacement rather than repair. Honest, superior workmanship, he is excellent.

I have an issue with my icemaker on my Bosch refrigerator. I left a voicemail for Gilbert and he called me back within 30 minutes. He was transparent and told me that he didn't have a lot of experience with Bosch refrigerators but he sent me two referrals. Even though I didn't work with him to fix my issue, this is good service. I will definitely call him in the future when I have any issues and recommend him to others.

I highly recommend Gilbert and his family owned company! He responded to my call right away and was here when he said he would be. He diagnosed the problem with my washing machine and absolutely knew what he was doing! His lovely wife does all of the driving and it was an added bonus to meet her as well. I happened to ask a friend if they had any recommendations for refrigerator repair companies as my freezer's ice maker was dripping water into the tray and freezing all the ice together. Initially, they said "no" however, she remembered that Advantage had repaired the dryer some time ago. Such an amazing referral! From the time I called till my washer was back in excellent condition, it was a pleasure working with Gilbert and I'm happy to have a fully functioning washing machine again. He was responsive from the first call as well as professional yet easy to converse with. Gilbert came out to assess the problem, gave me an estimate and then kept me updated on when the parts came in so he could set up an appointment. I found this business on Yelp a few months ago when I needed help with a leaking freezer. I couldn't have been happier with my experience. Gilbert scheduled my appt. in a timely fashion, and arrived when he said he would. He quickly determined the cause of the problem, and gave me a few options for repair, including a reasonably priced way that required a little work on my part. I had called upon Gilbert 3 years ago when our clothes washer stopped working he did a great job and was very knowledgable and great price too! This past Saturday our dryer stopped working. I texted him and he called right away to setup a time. He came on Sunday and did a fantastic job! Great price too, I will recommend to any of my friends and neighbors who need a service

Yep. This is the place you need to call if you have an appliance that needs service.
I woke up to our refrigerator not being cold enough. Ugh. Panic sets in because you don't want to lose all the perishable food. And of course I had to go to work.
My MIL was home and able to get all the stuff into coolers with ice and we called Advantage... I mean we needed someone ASAP. This is not an appointment that can wait a couple days. Well, guess what they were able to fit us in!!! Yeah!!!

Our dryer was no longer putting out heat and we called Advantage. Gilbert (the owner) came out the next day at the agreed time, calling ahead to coordinate. Super nice guy. I like to watch repairs like these so I can learn something. Gilbert showed me what he was doing, took extra time to vacuum out all the lint from inside the dryer and give me some tips on how to clean the vent pipe. He had the parts on hand and made the repair. Works great. Highly recommend this company.

Gilbert is the man!! and the only guy allowed to touch my appliances. We've been using him for years starting with my POS old washer and dryer I had at my old place as well as an old hunk a junk fridge. He's as honest as they come, if it ain't worth save'n he'll tell ya. If he can't do the repair or it's too complicated a fix he's also upfront about it. He's a one man band like my own personal company so I have way more respect for who he is and how he does his thing.... because it's basically my same situation just a different field.

Gilbert came out today to fix our refrigerator which was malfunctioning. Gilbert got the parts and made the repairs very quickly for a reasonable price. We'll be using Advantage Appliance Repair in the future.
I had also reached out to San Jose Appliance Repair and Appliance Repair Gurus at the same time, but never heard from either of those two firms.

100+ Stars for Gilbert and Advantage Appliance Repairs. Our coin operated washer broke and I called several places for repair. Some places didn't even bother calling back and some said they don't fix coin operated appliances and one place said they charge $99 just to show up.
Gilbert was the only one who took the time to understand what the problem was, he made several trips to the home, he researched and called around for parts (since the washing machine was very very old). Gilbert went ABOVE and BEYOND to get an old machine to work again ... and the final bill was totally reasonable
