The duo behind Oslo-based design studio Gridy, Lars Olav Dybdal and Wilhelm Grieg Teisner, both studied at the Bergen Academy of Art and Design prior to joining forces in 2010. Since then they have quickly became known for creating functional designs with a sense of wit and personality. Breweries are fun--shouldn't the design be, too?

Not a great company to work for if you are a woman. Mostly men that work in this company. I was harassed almost everyday. The Human Recourses Manager Margarita didn't care and ended up firing me based off he say she say. I still don't know the reason why I was let go. They wouldn't give me a direct answer. I tried to contact the owner and got no respond. Although I did like the 75% off employee discount.

Former Employee

If you are looking at Grand Rapids Chair for employment, run. There are three owners, the CFO, VP of Sales, and President. The CFO tries to screw employees over any chance he gets, the President is crazy (literally crazy) and the VP of Sales, while a nice guy, doesn't stand up to either. The VP of Supply Chain while not an owner may be the worst of all due to the way he treats other employees. There has been a mass exodus of good employees over the last year because management won't address internal issues. Run, far, far away from this company.

Unlike the previous 'former' employee, I loved working for GR Chair. I always found the managers to be fair and I was proud of the products being produced. I never had much direct interaction with the President but during our company meetings, he was open and approachable in my opinion and took as much time as you needed to discuss any issues that came up. If my wife hadn't received a job offer outside of the State of Michigan, I would still be at Grand Rapids Chair today. It was definitely in the top 5 places that I have worked throughout my career!
