Tim Layton was raised in a family business specialzing in fire and storm damage restoration and remodeling work.
Backed by over 30 years of experience we offer independent consultation, design, and problem solving. Over my years in the remodeling and restoration business, I've completed well over 1000 projects. While I've learned a lot from that experience, one lesson stands out most prominently. I probably could have told you that when I spent my first week on the job at 11 years old, but I didn't understand it the way I do now.
Since then I've learned how the home connects directly to our most important bits. People love their homes because they represent so much more than just four walls and a roof. They are part of a life. That's why I show up ready to listen. Most contractors only do remodeling work when they're forced to. Maybe because new home construction is slow, maybe because a referral from a friend feels like an obligation, maybe because the contractor is new to the business and "you have to start somewhere". That's not TR Layton. Servicing the West Coast of Florida from Tampa Bay to Naples.
We only design remodeling projects and have been designing them for about twenty-five years. Remodeling work requires a specific kind of vision. There must be an ability to see the existing structure and the completed vision together, and to be able to envision the steps involved in making the transformation happen.
Tim Layton has been a licensed contractor in Florida for over 30 years and in that time has overseen the completion of over 1000 repair and remodeling projects of all types on buildings of every size and class of use. Consulting is a very customized offering designed to apply our expertise in the most efficient way for the benefit of client needs.

Tim and his team assisted us with modifications to a home we purchased including but not limited to repaint exterior, deck and railings, install exterior light fixtures, remodel storage to be fully compliant with Manatee County Building Authority codes and regulations, reconfigure kitchen pantry cabinet for and install compact washer/dryer, construct pantry under stairs and install concrete driveway. They did all of this in a professional and workmanlike manner and were courteous and respectful. Tim is extremely creative and adds tremendous value and insight into what can be a challenging process

We had a renovation that included a second floor addition complete with a master bedroom suite and bath as well as having a metal roof to replace our old ceramic tiling.
From initial drawings through the architect and engineering reviews as well as the appropriate city office filings and approvals, he took the burden off our shoulders.
His input and suggestions as well as working with our changes and requests worked to make the final product look like it had always been there and not a slapped on renovation.
