Southernwood took root in La Plata, Maryland 13 years ago as a custom home building company locally owned and operated by lifetime La Plata residents Andy and Frank (F.D.) Mudd.

I have been using Southernwood’s services since January 2021. They installed siding on my entire home and repaired my roof due to storm damage. They did such an amazing job, I had them install two sliding glass doors. Their services don’t disappoint! I will, definitely, utilize their services for any future job!!! I highly recommend Southernwood for home repair/maintenance. I had them replace the roofs on my house and workshop and gutters on my house. Although their charge was slightly higher than another estimate, their professionalism, adherence to the contract, quality of work, and attention to detail convinced me I made the right decision. Not only did the roofing crew clean thoroughly when they left, but both the salesman and the job foreman returned and swept the area for debris/nails after the job was done. Nick D was fantastic to work with. I only have positive words for him. He answered all my questions and walked me thru the entire process from start to finish. He even helped me reached out to my insurance agent and was able to get more money to help cover the entire cost of my roof. I would recommend Southernwood and would look to use them on future projects.

Recently I had my roof done by Southernwood Roofing & Siding LLC and would give it a 5 Star rating. Ralph Hancock’s customer service skills is what sold me on SR&S LLC. He took the time to tell me, if selected, what Southernwood offers in its installation of my new roof. All other companies just took pictures of my roof, walked away, and sent there proposals. Ralph took his time, provided sample roof shingles, and answered all my questions. All in all, we were very pleased with the preparations, the work, and clean up!

Southernwood were prompt in addressing my needs to repair the roof of my newly bought house. Ralph came out to inspect and provided detailed advice on the severity of the leaks and different solutions to solve it prior to replacing the roof. The day of repair the team sought my opinion on what I wanted to do regarding issues with the roof. They definitely sought to address my needs personally!

From the time i called Southernwood for an estimate on my roof, they were prompt, friendly, professional and helpful. The estimate was timely, even with all the difficult skylights they had to deal with on my house.
Their work was really the same, timely, friendly, professional, neat and quick. The crew was amazing...they just kept working all day! All was done in 2 days! The carpenter then quickly arranged to come out and trim out skylights from the inside, which again was all those same wonderful qualities. I have already recommended Southernwood to three people!

I contacted Southernwood and explained my situation
MD law requires a 1-year warranty but Southernwood extends their warranty to 5… years for their customers and our roof was 4 years and 50 weeks old
Andy immediately sent a team out to review the problem but also had repairs completed (believe it was chalking and reattachment of the shingles)

I recently had Southernwood redo my roof and siding damaged in a hail storm. The company was excellent to work with and their work is impeccable. We worked with Doug Hands. He made the process absolutely painless. His help went beyond just setting up the work and dealing with his company. He came out for the insurance inspection to help ensure they… noted all the same issues he saw.
