My name is Bob Kaplan of Kaplan Painting and I have lived in Hull my entire life. Starting back when I was ten, I always worked right along side with my father when he did construction jobs during the summer. I learned A LOT from him, and when I purchased my own home over 20 years ago, I was able to do the majority of the carpentry work and updating by myself.
And yes, 20 years later I'm still doing updating and remodeling thanks to my lovely wife, who as soon as one room is done she thinks of something else she'd like done in another room! With the encouragement of my family, I began Kaplan Painting in 1993 and have been going strong ever since. I've done big houses, small houses, interior or exterior, residential and some commercial jobs.
I work right along with my guys and stay on site during the job so you will always have me to talk to and make sure you are happy with the job.

I appreciate the time you took to explain all the options I had, and showing me comparable houses you had painted as well. The house still looks great a year later and you and your crew were terrific, especially by making sure everything was covered before painting and that everything was tight and caulked when done.

Bob and his crew were great. We just moved in and the paint in every room needed to be done and we didn’t have the extra time to address it ourselves. Also had a hole in our ceiling from a water leak. Got a few quotes, with Bob’s being fair. Roger and Marcella did great work, especially considering all the trim and built ins that we have. They did a great job on the cabinets, too. Very professional. Whole house knocked out in 2 weeks and looks like a completely different place.

We had a HUGE indoor project. It took a 4-5 man crew 8 hours/day, 6 days/week, for a month to complete. It was done beautifully, efficiently, and there was never an issue with little add-on details we requested during the job. His crew were nothing but gentlemen. They were gentle and careful with our pictures, antiques, even the heavy furniture. They cleaned after each day, meticulously--even mopping!
Although it was expensive because it was a very large job, the pricing was actually very fair--even a great price, considering what was done. There were no mistakes like you see with others (like

I hired Kaplan Painting to paint the exterior of our house. Bob and his crew did a great job. Prepping the house prior to painting is the most important difference b-n painting companies. Bob and his crew spent 5 days prepping the house, Power washing/ Sanding / Scraping and caulking, prior to applying any paint. Along with painting the body and trim, He cleaned the cedar shingles and applied a bleaching oil. See pics. 2 years later and it still looks like it was just painted. Thanks Bob. Scott Filion

Bob has done a few jobs for us, he wallpapered our powder room, he did a great job with difficult wallpaper and did it for a great price. He painted the garage floor with epoxy, looks great and he's done some other small jobs around the house. He always responds promptly and gets the job done quickly and does quality work. Highly recommend.

Bob did some handyman work for us and I can’t say enough good things about him. He was responsive, did a great job (showed up when he said he would, worked quickly and fixed everything we needed -and we haven’t had any issues with his work a year later). To boot, he was very reasonably priced and a great guy. Highly recommend.

Bob has the most amazing team! They are so detailed and efficient. My house was beautiful but now it is amazing and I can’t believe what a difference he can make at a reasonable price. I had no idea they would caulk windows and seams. Bob was knowledgeable about paint colors so he transformed my deck color so my house looks more modern and gives great advice with confidence. His team was respectful and would take off their shoes if they even came into the house for a second to paint the front doors or when painting the deck. Can’t even say enough about their work, talent and attention to detail
