Gardner Fox has our strongest endorsement and recommendation! We did a complete home renovation with them 5 years ago and we could not be happier with the process and the results. After deciding to renovate our current house rather than move, we spoke to Mark Fox about the process and our desires for our renovation. He explained the process, and then sat down with us to develop plans for our "new" house. He and his team developed a beautiful plan based on our desires, our budget and the existing layout of our house. The Gardner Fox team's execution of the actual construction was equally as smooth

Save yourself the time and go with Hellings Builders...
We reached out to them for a home renovation and had them give us a proposal. After a $1000 (non-refundable deposit) and paying engineer fees, we got other proposals that were consistently 20% cheaper for the same scope. When we did not move forward with Gardner Fox they attempted to charge us for their time for (what we understood as) a free estimate.
When we refused to pay they threatened 'alternative action' (read: legal action). After this experience I could not, in good conscious, recommend them to anyone.

A home remodeling project is about as stressful as it gets for a homeowner, but our experience with Gardner Fox Associates was about as seamless as one could hope for. My wife and I had done our homework and scoured the internet evaluating numerous contractors, designers, etc. We met Lance at the Philadelphia home show and he explained the advantages of using a design/build firm like GFA. Our project was complicated by the fact that my wife was 3.5 months pregnant and we wanted our project completed prior to the arrival of our baby. I posted a review of this company on another review website. I wrote that we hired this company to do a sunroom addition. It was and continues to be a disaster for us. We had leaking skylights, the cabinetry ordered was not sized properly, the dry wall is cracking, the wood floor has needed repair and the outside carpentry has been redone is areas. This firm was awful.
They left a response asking that I return a call to them which I did. This work was done on my home in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.
